There are always gonna be problems with that mobile house U have. Last time I woke up as all others before, gravity dictates water only falls down, not up!:)Re: jacks up or downJacks down, Hydraulic fluid doesn't deteriorate an the jack shafts won't rust, check an old pc of abandoned construction equip thjat has set in the elements for years, most cylinder shafts look like new! Take as much of the coaches weight off of the tires & suspension as possible. 4 hydraulic legs don't care, careful U block the drive wheels so it doesn't roll, 6 tires sitting can develop flat spots over time, zero weight on em, zero problems other than sun exposure, If that doesn't make sense to U, nothing will.Re: First Time Buyer...Updated 03/06/2006Buy an older (Pre computer controlled), road proven, quality, diesel pusher.Re: 20 year loan for RV?I bought my 1992 Monaco Beaver Contessa for $15,000 the MSRP on it what's $325,000 it's a luxurious 3208 Caterpillar 4 speed transaxle Diesel Pusher, the body is in seriously nice shape with 0 delamination, solid as a rock handling down the road, I purchased the vehicle with cash and have been living in it since 2013, one of the best investments I've ever made, I will be heading from Virginia to Lake Chapala Mexico in a month or two and know that my rig will be trouble free, the only thing that has given me trouble is the hydraulic jacks that are on it for when I park long term, it's computer controlled, along with the air ride, I had to wire it all bypassing the computer, now it works fine + i have complete remote control. I would not go out and purchase a newer rig that has not proven itself over many years especially the **** they manufacture these days that has computer-controlled engines as well as drivetrain. Not even to mention slide outs. They are like electric windows only more **** to go wrong. :) I could sustain a sizeable EMP hit and the only thing I would probably lose is the radios, short wave,CB,PC and 65" TV if I'm using them at the time. Otherwise my 3208 will keep on tickin down the road as long as I feed it it's funky green juice. As far as finances go, dont belive the hype I have been holding Bitcoin a many a year yes it goes up and down, if I had of sold it at 20K I could have bought back at 3K thats a hell of a gain. Do not try and guess that U will come out ahead because U never know what U're Govt is gonna throw in the mix to screw U over next! :) I'm gonna be an expat an live the chill life down south, U can have this $h!tty american dream all to yourself.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Don't even waste your money if it isn't a worthy (rust free) diesel pusher! MSRP @ least $250,000 new!Re: Atwood 15K Rooftop Heat Pump Md #15028Yeah, I have the furnace disconnected right now. I have my multimeter on it so I can hear when it calls for heat, earlier today when the sun was up and it was getting a bit to warm in here to stand heat the damn thing worked great. I don't need heat when it's hot in here AAaaaarrrggghhh.. So I turned on the AC. Worked like a champ.. I just don't get it. HP=AC Reversed,, If only it had standard inputs, I could trick it into running until I can get out and get to a Atwood Tech. I'm off the road a bit and it will take a while for the yard & driveway to handle my weight, It's still pretty soggy up here in VA.Re: Atwood 15K Rooftop Heat Pump Md #15028Yes, I have taken that into consideration and only moved it in 1 degree increments every ten mins, most times it wont come on at all. In order to see what it thinks is room temp you have to push the sleep button for 5 secs, I can push it and it may tell me its 72, I can pu**** again it may tell me its 80, push again it might be 76, mind you this is in a 20 second span. Why the hell should I have to push it at all to see what it thinks the room temp is, as opposed to the set temp? what engineer came up with that?Atwood 15K Rooftop Heat Pump Md #15028I recently purchased a 15K Atwood Air Command Heat Pump Model 15028; it’s a ducted unit with a digital thermostat. The Original unit was a Dometic 13.5K AC. The removal of the Dometic and install of the Atwood was a breeze, the hookups are about as simple as it can get. The only problem is that it won’t work in heating mode; The AC works great, no problem. I thought it was a faulty thermostat so i purchased another, no luck, it will come on and output excellent heat for about 20 seconds when it wants to, no rhyme or reason just whenever it feels like it, most of the time it wants to run the propane furnace, the reason I purchased the heat pump was to get away from the expense of propane and the clutter of having three cube heaters on the floor. After scouring the net for troubleshooting info I've found that every other RV heat pump I've researched is wired the same as most standard residential pumps, with separate wires calling for whatever function. With this Atwood unit, OH No. It's a four wire deal that uses pulses or some******that makes no sense to me and won’t show change on a multimeter. Had I done more research as to how the controls were built I would not have bought the damn thing. The rest of the unit design appears solid. At this time it's only 48 degrees outside so there is no excuse for it not to be running. I have spent a couple of weeks fooling around with this pc of garbage. Had they simply used a traditional control board, I’d be up and running with whatever thermostat I chose instead of some space **** they probably had aboard challenger. I just don’t get it, why would you go from using a controller that’s tried and true, used in millions of systems, to some space trash. I sure would appreciate any feedback anyone could give me about their heat pumps. Especially Atwood.Re: 1991 Beaver Contessa Converter / InverterThanx, I hope me and the coach get along together. My wife recently passed and I found myself sitting in just the bedroom, of a 2000 Sq Ft home, I dont have a clue how to cook or any of the basic things because I married at 19, the 4 children are all grown an gone, an really dont care much for me anyway because I spent all my time away working, so I don't need but a bed and bath, Now I can sell the house and get rid of all the junk We've accumulated over the years, meet a few people an hopefully pay attention to things I hurried past, trying to make a good living for my family. This new endevor, is an attempt to rebuild my life. Damn, I wish that I could have my Copilot beside me, that was the plan, but the Lord figured otherwise....Re: 1991 Beaver Contessa Converter / InverterZMotor you made my day..Looked in the closet an saw a carpeted box with vent, (Big Ole Smile) pulled the top. there sits my Inverter, the thing was set to equalize, I switched it over to the normal setting & everything seems to work as it should. Damn feels like I'm 6 on a Xmas Morning. When I bought the coach I asked about the 110 side of things and the owner said he always just ran the Genny. This guy had it several years and took a few trips and never knew that you could run 110 off the batteries..Since I had to switch it over from equalize to run I would assume that the converter is built within.. Hence there is no seperate converter it is a Inverter/Converter??? I have yet to remove the battery caps and check the acid level but would assume there is little to none since the thing was set to equalize for years. I've only driven it 400 mi to bring it home an set in the yard playing around with the systems for a few days.. I plan to work on things for a year or so before I hit the road I would like to have everything straight, because I'm physically impaired and only have Soc Sec for income I don't want, nor can afford any surprises..Well on my way to full timing....Yeah...
