I knew LP would be low but just didn't understand the combo unit. thanks so much, I will buy them seperate then.Confused about Co & LP DetectorsI need to get a detector for our Motorhome. My thought was to get a combo CO/LP Detector that is 12V with back up of 9V. Is this possible? Or is just a 9V ok. I wanted to have both sources of power just to be sure but have not experienced this setup yet so not sure if just 9V is good enough. What do you all do for your set up of detectors? We do have two fire detectors that run on 9V right now.Re: Best route from Vancouver to Cresent City CAThanks everyone for your suggestions. Looks like we will likely go thru Spokane and over to I5 and then 101 and keep an eye on the weather as we go along. We will just take our time and enjoy each others company. Put the coffee on and roll along! this will be our first time driving with a Motorhome in the winter partly in Canada and we'll see how it goes. Worst case we sit on the California West Coast and enjoy the ocean! I'm totally into that!Re: Best route from Vancouver to Cresent City CASo is the I5 as fast as the 101. I want the fastest road to the Redwood State Park. I understand that mountains and weather can make a road slow no matter how good the road is. Should I get onto the 101 sooner then at the Redwoods for the more of a chance of better road conditions? Of course this is a loaded question as nobody can guarantee me good road conditions. Just what is the norm for that time of year and I can gather my info together and decide. thanksBest route from Vancouver to Cresent City CAWe are planning to get through Canada roads over close to Vancouver and then go south to Crescent City CA, where we will de-winterize and carry on with our trip for two weeks. We will be driving a 27ft Motorhome the first two weeks of December. What is the best route to get to Crescent City and best border crossing. Our plan is to get to Crescent City as fast as possible with the least resistance of winter driving and mountain passes. We will be starting our trip from Edmonton and we figure to cross over the Rocky Mountains in Canada as we are very familiar with those roads and get as close to the coast and south in Canada before entering the US where we don't know the roads as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ThanksRe: Edmonton to Humboldt Redwoods State Park Decemberthanks paulj,,,,I know was just looking for the least resistance with a Motorhome with experience on the roads south of us. Not to afraid of snow storms as we live with them living in Alberta and to be expected with Winter driving. But we all know all our mountain passes here and we don't typically drive on them with our Motorhomes.Re: Edmonton to Humboldt Redwoods State Park DecemberThis trip will start on November 28th and would like to be at Humboldt by Dec 1st...don't know it that's being realistic or not.Edmonton to Humboldt Redwoods State Park DecemberI have figured out that we will cross over to the Hwy 1 in California at Willits to Fort Bragg and go south to San Francisco. So now I just need the path of least resistance, meaning the least of mountain passes and slow roads in December to get us to Humboldt Redwoods State Park from Edmonton. We will be driving a 26ft motor home and it will be winterized till we get south and confident that we can de-winterize. I google mapped but it seems to take me over alot of mountain passes. We are not looking for much scenery before Humboldt Redwoods State Park we just need to get there in a fairly easy manner and then de-winterize then start the sight seeing. Any suggestions would be great. Thank YouFort Bragg to San Francisco on Hwy 1We will be coming down south on Hwy 101 California and would like to get over to Hwy 1 as soon as possible near Fort Bragg. The Hwy 20 from Willits to Fort Bragg looks very very curvy and slow. But the Hwy 128 from Ukiah to Hwy 1 looks like it goes up north for a ways before it meets up with Hwy 1 so looks like some backtracking but a little more straight. any one have any suggestions or experiences on this two different routes. We will be doing this trip the first two weeks of December and we are driving a 26ft Motorhome. Also any suggestions of a good easy route when we get closer to San Francisco to take off Hwy 1 and a RV Park that is close to San Francisco but we can go into San Francisco for day trips. We do not have a car but I wouldn't drive a car in San Fran anyways been there and wasted my money on a car that I didn't use. Thank YouRe: How many RV batteries is to much for a tripNot diesel and they are 12V. I think maybe they were boondocking with this thing more then plugging in!
