How do I check the voltage?Re: LP DetectorDetector is not battery operated it is hard wired. The smoke detector is battery but no the CO2/LP. Will check to see if low voltage tomorrow. I wasn't even in the camper when it started going off I was on the deck and it was pretty random. Seems to me like a new camper shouldn't be a dead or expired detector already. Thanks for the suggestions!Re: camping with kids - traditions/games?We have planned camp wide activities all weekend. Most are geared toward the 7-15 yr range. A lot of kids also ride bikes, go the lake etc.. in the evening there is entertainment for all usually a DJ or karaoke that all can participate in. Then when the kids come back from the entertainment we usually play a boardgame before going to bed.Re: Too many kids?hahaha I love it--I have 5 of my own kids and usually we always have a couple extra to boot. Plus all the neighbor kids that my kids are friends with. Thankfully we are right on the "frontline" across from all the activity fields etc.. Glad you took it with a grain of salt.LP DetectorI have a 2012 Jayco we purchased last year brand new in May. Trailer is parked in a campground hooked up with 50 amp service on a seasonal site. This AM my CO/LP detector started going off for no apparent reason-The CO stayed green but the LP was blinking red. I shut the gas off outside and it continued to go off for about 15 more minutes intermittently. Neighbors came over and said detector probably bad so he unscrewed and unwired it from wall. Date stamped on back of detector is FEB 2012. How can they sell a unit with expired equipment? Anyhow, do you think the expiration is the answer or could there be another problem?Re: Tension knob on awning armskipnchar---I had a professional company come out and install the awning--just got it last week--However on my lat camper there was nothing to "lock" it either. Is there such a thing? Seems to me like there should be to prevent this from happening. But from the posts I see I am not the only one that this has happened to! Thanks everyone !!Tension knob on awning armOk I have a 2012 Jayco jay flight with an 18' Carefree awning. When loosing up the tension knob it unscrewed all the way and the knob came off as well as the washer thing that holds it in. How do you get it back in place when you can't reach into the arm to hold the washer thing in place? We finally got it back in position but it took a good 30 minutes of fighting.Tension Knob on awning armSo when you are loosing up the tension knobs on the awning arms what do you do if one comes off and the washer thing comes off as well. How do you get it back on.Re: Battery or propane ?I do have it on auto---but just the conversation came up about which is cheaper. Electric is metered for seasonals and it is .20 KW --Yes I am a woman but telling by my name I am a farmers wife so I can handle a propane tank.;) But if I really really needed it - the camp provides propane service. Thanks for all the input!Battery or propane ?I have a 2012 Jayco and just became a seasonal this year. As I was chatting with some young folk they said running propane for the fridge is cheaper then electric. So this got me thinking and I asked a few other "old timers" and they said electric. So I am trying to figure out propane or electric or is this just a personal choice kinda thing? BTW--Just got my electric bill for the month-$39 but we were not running AC since it has been so cold but have been using heater at night.
