WilliamClosed I-95I am planning on going to Florence, S. C. shortly. I might or might drive the MH. I know interstate 95 has been closed around Lumberton, N.C. since the storm. I am wondering how far west do I need to go to avoid the flooded areas around Lumberton. There might be other closed roads away from Lumberton, but I am not aware of any real close to Lumberton. Thanks for your info. Williamnew tires?I have a 2004 Southwind with 19.5 Michelin tires. I think they are about 6 years old. I can see small cracks in the sidewall of the front tire. I am wondering if these small cracks are considered dangerous and in need of replacement. I also wonder if they are weather related. Any info will be helpful. Thanks in advance. WilliamRe: engine on reduced powerThanks for the info. I did recharge the battery and it seems to have corrected the probllem. I guess I willfind out for sure when i get it on the road. Williamengine on reduced powerTwo days ago, I went to crank my motorhome. Its a 2004 southwind with 8.1 litre engine. The battery would hardly start the engine. I have not used the MH since March but did put the charger to the battery a couple of weeks ago for a short time(just a few hours) When I cranked the engine this morning, I noticed a message on the dash that read "engine on reduced power". The engine would hardly reach 1500 rpms. I did let the engine run for several minutes and switched the engine off, but then it cranked up as if nothing happened and the message went off. Does anyone have any experience with this and might give me some idea of what is happening. Thanks in advance. WilliamDamage done by squirrelsRecently I noticed that on the top of the engine on my pickup truck that there had been some knawing on a wire connecting to the emissions. It cost me $433 to correct the damage. I am afraid that these squirrels will do damage to the wiring on my motorhome if they haven't already. I honestly don't know if they have or not, but I am asking for any suggestions on how to get rid of them other than shoot the. That is almost out beacause of my neighborhood homes being so close together. Any suggestions will be appreciated. WilliamRe: Fire Hazard Appliance Recalls UPDATED NORCOLD INFO 11-20-2010I forgot to add that some of the replies indicated that if water got to this recall part while washing the MH, could cause it to go out. Yesterday, I did have someone detail my MH and I saw one guy spray water over the opening to the back of the ref. I cannot say water got to this part or not, but the way he sprayed the water I suspect it may have. I did not see any water inside the compartment, but just thought I would throw this out for thought.---------------------------------------WilliamRe: Fire Hazard Appliance Recalls UPDATED NORCOLD INFO 11-20-2010Thanks Plumgrubby and others for all of your help. Some replies that a magnet would reset the recall part that has been installed on my norcold refrigerator. I bought a magnet from a True Value store and tried it. It did reset and as of a few minutes ago, the ref. was working on both elec. and propane. It may not work another 5 minutes, but since I have reservations for Thursday AM about 150 miles away, I don't have enough time to get much else done. I may regret having reset this part, but this being the 5th time it has been replaced, I am willing to try this trip. In the near future, I may wind up getting the parts from the Amish. Lets hope every thing works out ok. Of those rv'ers who have reset their recall parts, I am wondering how long they worked before going out again. Thanks for everything to everybody for your replies.---------WilliamRe: Fire Hazard Appliance Recalls UPDATED NORCOLD INFO 11-20-2010Well, in august, 2015, just last month, I had the recall replaced and it worked while at the shop. I drove it home and only left my yard to have a part of the tail pipe relaced, nothing to do with the recall part. I switched on the ref. once in my yard and it came on. Today, getting it ready to go camping this coming thursday and the part will not work. The little red light is burning steady. I have not used the rv and when I switched the ref. on just to see if the lights inside would come on and then immediately turned it off. If I go camping this week, it will be without a ref. Thanks for all of the help above. ------WillliamRe: Bear Creek State park , Cumberland , VAyes, but did not see anything on the length available unless I overlooked it.-----William
