I kept my speed under 65 and drove without the cruise in the hills. The total trip I average 7.9 mpg. I filled up every 360 miles with 45-46 gals each time. Going to bring all necessary tools with me to do the job on the road. Wow .... can this be done when on a trip? I thought the Ford V10 fuel pump was inside the fuel tank and that it was a fairly major job replacing it - emptying the tank, dropping it, changing out the pump, lifting up and rebolting the tank in place, and then refilling it with enough fuel to get to a gas station, etc.. :h I am hoping not to have to change it but if I do I will do it myself. I have done much larger job on the side of the road to 18 wheelers. This would be a large job but I have look at it and there is a drain plug in the bottom of the tank an 5gal bucket will fit under it. So if it dose fail then I have a plan. I have changed the fuel filter today and it has started good the few time I have check it. I also had the wife turn the switch on and I can hear the pump running. So I am praying for a problem free trip. The wife always says that I cannot leave things along until they are broken or I find a problem. Thanks for all the feed back I am starting to like this forum more and more.Re: Ford E450 class c with V10 slow to start sometimesI am going to change the fuel filter this weekend and hope for the best on our trip. If the fuel pump goes out on the trip I will just have to change it than. Going to bring all necessary tools with me to do the job on the road. Thanks for all the help. Going to be running some Lucas fuel injector cleaner in it so hopefully that will help lube the pump.Re: Ford E450 class c with V10 slow to start sometimesThanks for the responses. It starts fine most of the time it just every now and then it dose that. Just trying to get some ideas as we are about to head out on a 1800 mile trip with it.Ford E450 class c with V10 slow to start sometimesI have a 04 class c with the v10. After it sit for some time it will turn over for 5-10 sec be for starting up. It dose not do this all the time mostly after it sits for a week or two. It has done it a few time while stoping for an hour or so. All other time she fires up as soon as you turn it over. Just wondering if this is normal?Re: Chicot State ParkWe stay here a few years back. I believe it was the north loop we stay in with a 28 foot bumper pull. The site was level but very tight backing into due to trees on both side of the site pad. We stay there for 4 day and will go farther north to Colfax and stay next time.Re: First time tow car with tow dolly.I am towing a 2012 Toyota Camry .
