The default temps just aren't quite right. Putting in a wired thermostat is a pain I didn't want to endure. If I could easily switch out the receiver and get a wireless thermostat I wouldDometic Wireless Thermostat RemoteAll, I have wireless Remote Comfort Control unit that controls the thermostat for my Dometic air conditioning\heating unit. Here is what it looks like http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/dometic/remote_comfort_control.html?p=1 It has died. I get no digital display on the front of the unit I have tried numerous sets of batteries. These remotes are apparently no longer made :( had I know that was going to happen I would have purchased a couple of extras. Here's my question. I have found only spotty references to replacing systems like this and in one of them it mentioned that after the replacement the heating unit could no longer be controlled. Can anyone give me guidance on how to fix this problem. I live in Alabama, it's going to get hot, and we are going to have to be able to control the A\C but I don't want to lose my heater either since we some times camp in cooler weather. Thanks in advance........Re: Decals, graphics rjsurfer wrote: Most of my decals are faded and peeling, I don't not want the expense and labor of replacing the factory decals, as others have said the manufacturer should pay me to have them replaced. I'm thinking of stripping everything off and use the shadows from the old decals as a guide and paint new decals on minus the manufaturer and model name. Anyone do this before? What type of spray paint would you use? I'm guessing some auto detailers pin striping tape would help? Thanks Ron W. I saw this done on a Malibu by Skyline which is what I have when it was up for resale at a Camping World. It actually looked better than my decals ever did and I have contemplated doing it myself but honestly I just don't know if it's that important.SchematicsDoes anyone know how to get the plumbing and electrical schematics for a 2008 Malibu by Skyline? The same water damage is occurring that I had before right at the point where the pantry and "front" door are. I've looked up some troubleshooting tips for finding a leak, but I just have a gut feeling that it is coming from some lines underneath. I want to gather all the info I need to at least figure out what I'm dealing with. Then I can decide whether to take it in for repairs or fix it myself. Thanks,Re: Never againWell as an amateur I would like to say that I agree, sort of. I try to be a courteous camper. I like state parks best. I don't want to feel like I paid to go stay in a parking lot. I enjoy trails and water and nature. That said, we stayed this weekend at Torreya SP in Florida. It does take me a minute to get backed in and set-up, but I have worked hard to make sure that for the most part I know what I'm doing. After that, I am quiet and courteous of my neighbors. I do enjoy cooking outside, and we have been known to have a raucous marathon of Uno, but we don't drink like college students, we are there to spend time with our daughter as a family. Don't misunderstand, we do drink some spirits and enjoy the time, but it's not a contest to see who can pass out first. The entire campground was full, mostly tent camping which when I see a family out together tent camping cooking breakfast over a fire and hiking etc. I love it, I'm sure that they are making memories for their children that will carry them through life. That's not who we were next to. My neighbors drank profusely and screamed bring me another beer, swore a lot, played all kinds of games that they were very passionate about, and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning talking. We made the best of it. Actually there were so many people there not enjoying their surroundings that my daughter and I didn't see a single soul when we walked our dog on the weeping wall trail, and there were very few people touring the Gregory House. You don't have to be an amateur camper to be rude, and you don't have to be a full timer to have some class.Re: Observations from a camper window shopping tripI would like to comment on the op's topic. I am very torn right now. I have a Malibu 2810 by Skyline. Don't get me wrong I like my camper. However, I can't seem to fix a leak by the door. I'm looking into that again soon, and if I had it to do over I wouldn't have a manual slide. I've looked at other campers, but I'm not really sure what I want. I saw a much smaller Malibu and the dealer was asking more for that smaller unit than I owe on my bigger one. I'm just going to keep working with the one I have and when the right camper for me comes along I will try to purchase then.Re: Skyline RV forumI have a Malibu by Skyline and have often wondered the same thing.
