All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Xantrex Freedom 458 issuesI had the same problem where my batteries would charge but the inverter would not work and I couldn't get the inside panel to do anything. I tried turning on the inverter on the unit itself and nothing happened. I was about to take it out and replace when I started messing around with it a little more. I found out that you have to hold the power button down on the inverter for 5-10 seconds before it would turn on, not just press and release. Mime fortunately did turn on then. I decided it was probably just a bad remote controller inside the coach. I removed it and ran a short cord (just an old phone line cord) from the unit inside the bay to the control panel and it worked! So in my case it is a bad cord and I just need to run a new one. Hopefully yours is this simple or this information helps someone else in the futureRe: Anybody Know of a Class C With This Floorplan?I think the bornfree 26RSB fits pretty close, and has the benefit of the roll cage built in. Attached is a link with lots of good pics. Not my rv just first one I found. Bornfree 26RSB Re: A Class bunk floor plan helpI recently bought a class a bunkhouse as well and saw that floorplan you are looking at as well. I never saw one in person but was very intrigued by it. It seems like it would work well, I was a little concerned about passenger seating room with the counter right behind the seat. I would be interested in your thoughts if you ever see one in person. I ended up with a newmar baystar 3304 which had the bunks on the side. One thing I didn't realize but really appreciate is that in this model the head of the bed slides out with windows on each side which allows us to to have fresh air more often. Otherwise I think alot of time we would run the air not for temperature, but because it would be stuffy, if that is important to you. Good luck in your search.Early units with bunksI currently own a 24'born free and am thinking of changing to a class A for an extended trip(approximately 8 months). I am trying to find out when bunks became a widespread option. I still want to keep the large bed in the rear, but I like the units with the bunks in the side. Unfortunately I really need to stay at as low of price point as possible so I need to go older. I have seen several units that were 2007, I was just wondering if there were any class A's built earlier with bunks? If anyone wants to include models to be on the look out for that would be great. I also really like the overhead bed above the front seats, but I believe this is something relatively new? I have seen a couple Thor products that have both and are pretty new, but from what I have read here I think I will stay away from Thor for now. Thanks for any helpRe: Reservation at Grand Haven State Park MIThanks for all the great info and parks to look into. Sounds like there are many other good choices I didn't know about. We would like to stay further south this time. We have stayed at silver lake and liked that as well. Last year we took the boat up to torch lake area and enjoyed the beautiful blue water, but was a little cool. This trip would just be the rv and it is so nice for kids to be able to walk out of rv and swim right there without having to pack up a load of stuff and drive somewhere. We may try several of above mentioned areas in southern part of the state. It is easy for us to move, we only hook up power. So we are flexible. Thanks againRe: PALM SPRINGS CA???????We just returned from palm springs and like you had never been there. We reserved 1 night at Catlina RV Spa and Resort and ended up staying 4 nights and unfortunately had to leave. We loved it, people in park and staff were extremely friendly. 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, nice showers and restrooms if needed. 6+ pickle ball courts and even free putt putt! Also they advertise at $45/night, but with passport America it is half off. We signed up since it is only $40/year. I believe they said you can stay 2 weeks using passport America pricing. This is another thread running about palm springs as well that has a lot of recommendations as well.Re: Reservation at Grand Haven State Park MITo answer a few questions: Yes what we liked that it is right on the beach/lake. I was able to stay there last summer 3 nights by just moving around each night. That was with only about a week notice, so I just got lucky and picked up some cancelled days by other people. Yes I do know the sites are extremely close together, and there is blowing sand everywhere, but at least it isn't salt water. However the kids loved it, and it was nice to be right on the water so it was worth the hassle to me for a few days. GordonThree I will look into Manistee beach, that sounds pretty good. We boon dock completely quiet often for several days at a time so that would work, but I really would like to be camped right on the lake. Let me know if you have any other recommendations that are as close as possible to the beach.Re: California DecisionDon't know if you are still planning on heading that way but we just left palm springs and stayed at a wonderful campground called Catalina Spa & Rv Resort. Was less than $25/night with Passport America. Great facilities. I would also recommend the tram as mentioned early, but there wasn't much snow up there when we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer! Have FunRe: Black Hills, SDI also have stayed a Beaver Lake campground. Very convenient to a lot of sites in the area. Owner is very friendly and helpful, and also a member of this forum. They have nice sites and water slides and a pool for the kids if that is important. Most of the sites were nice and shaded and bathhouses were updated and clean any time we used them. Also as has been stated you could spend months in this beautiful area if you have the time. What are you interested in?Reservation at Grand Haven State Park MIAnyone have any tricks to getting a reservation here on the water? Obviously they are in high demand, and I keep trying to get on right before the deadline to reserve a site, but I either am told system is slow and I end up missing it, or the site is no longer available. I know a lot of people book 2 weeks out to get the week they want and then cancel the first week later so if anyone has a a few days they are going to cancel in July of this year please let me know the time you will be doing it so hopefully I can pick up one of these cancellations! Any help to secure a waterfront site here would be appreciated.
