I did manage to find the motor and checked that the wire is plugged in tight, but can't do much beyond that without tearing things apart. Because both ends of the slide are up against walls or cabinets, I'll probably end up screwing stuff up worse trying to get to stuff. I have an appointment to have a shop take a look at it this week. Thanks again!Lippert slide issueTrailer is a 2014 Viewfinder Signature v24-SD. I believe it has a Lippert electric slide. Had the trailer home for wash/wax; went to run in the slide to move it back to the storage lot, and slide moved for about 1 second (maybe an inch or 2) and then one side seemed to stop and then the other stopped. Ran it back out, and tried again - same result. After looking everything over and checking fuses, I removed the panel to get to the controller. The controller is showing a fault code that indicates there is a short between the controller and one of the motors. It seems impossible to see where the wires go, and I can't see the motors (even pulling back the gaskets). So, I notice a procedure to do an override. Look it up online, and find the same procedure. I do the override sequence on the controller, and push the slide button and the slide comes in just fine. Tried it again with same result. Have to use the override, but then it works fine. My question is: If there was a short as the error code indicates, wouldn't the motor not work at all? If it works when I do the override, there can't be a short can there? So maybe it's a bad controller? I'm not an electrical expert, but this doesn't make sense. My first thought is to try to replace the controller (will have to research source and $$). In the mean-time, we have a trip coming up. Will it do any harm to use the override to work the slide until I can get this solved? If I have to get to the motors, it looks like it will be a real challenge unless I start to do some serious disassembly on stuff that I can't see. Any thoughts?Re: Winnebago Vista 27N - Cargo Capacity? kd7cxg-2 wrote: VAWinger I have the Itasca Sunstar 27N (same as the Vista 27N). The tag under the drivers side window states: The combined weight of occupants and cargo must never exceed 2906 lbs. A full load of water = 674 lbs of cargo. With a GVWR of 18,000lbs that would make the UVW approx. 15,100lbs, this would include a full tank of fuel. Hope this helps. We really like our 27N Tom Tom, Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. That's about what I was expecting, but good to get some confirmation. The 27N is leading the pack right now for the next rig.Re: Winnebago Vista 27N - Cargo Capacity?I know the UVW will vary depending on options - really just looking for ballpark. 500 lbs. or 5,000 lbs.?Winnebago Vista 27N - Cargo Capacity?Looking at the Winnebago Vista 27N. I cannot find any specs on the dry weight (unloaded weight) or cargo capacity on any of the Winny Vistas. We have been looking at class C's in the 30' range, but most seem to be maxxed out on GVWR not leaving much for cargo and passengers. That's what led us to look at some smaller Class A's. Can anyone tell me where to find the Net Cargo Capacity or Unloaded Vehicle Weight on the Vistas?Re: Portable Generator GroundingDoes your Progressive EMS have a remote display with a switch? If so, all you need to do is just turn the switch off when you run the generator. The switch turns all the other sensors off except for surge protection.Re: Suppliers with excellent Customer ServiceProgressive Industries! I bought an EMS from them a few months ago and finally got around to installing it this past weekend. When I turned it on, it had a horrible buzz/humming sound. I called their tech support number late on Saturday evening, and got a call back in less than ten minutes. The technician walked me through a reset procedure and gave me some tips on a better way to mount the unit. Problem solved!Re: 2014 Cruiser ViewFinder 24SD (V nose/kitchen)Thanks arizal, That is my plan. I think I'll also install a DC voltmeter and monitor it over the next season to see how far it discharges when sitting in storage. I think the AGMs discharge much less, so maybe I can leave it in over the winter and just check it once in a while.Re: 2014 Cruiser ViewFinder 24SD (V nose/kitchen)We bought a 2014 V-24SD this past October and we love it. We've had it out about 4 weekends so far (waiting for the snow to clear and campgrounds here to open again!). There are a lot of things to like: much more kitchen counter space than most in this size, solid surface counter tops, etc. The only major complaint I have had so far is the battery location. It is very hard to access. The dealer put in a cheap car battery, so I've been pulling it out and taking it home to put on a charger in between trips (camper is stored an hour away from home). I'll be replacing the battery this spring with a true deep-cycle, but still expect to have to remove it over the winter every year. Has anyone found a way to move the battery so it is easier to access? Or have any tricks to more easily removing it? Bill
