Just pulled a 125 mile round trip mostly hills with 36' trailer (10,000# fully loaded) and got 7.6 MPG....this was the same as my 2015 6.2L V8. Empty the new truck is getting 13.8 MPG around town, 90% stop and go traffic. Towing is a breeze with the 10 speed, glad I got the larger 7.3LRe: Check Me....I am OK with this set-upThanks everyone for the feedback. I felt like I was OK....but wanted to get a few opinions. See you down the road.Re: Check Me....I am OK with this set-upI am definitely going F-350 with the new truck.....not even a question in my mind....for the little cost to go to the 1 ton, it is worth it. 2,350 payload is from the yellow door jamb sticker. Occupants are approx. 800 lbs total. Throw in some fire wood and a small grill in the bed and that's about it. We stay east of the Mississippi (Only been camping in 10 states). Go up to the Adirondacks once a summer. Mostly stay within 3-4 hours of home.Check Me....I am OK with this set-upCan you check me (give me your thoughts) on this combination 2015 F-250 Super Duty CC FX4 Off Road, Camper Package (Extra Rear Leaf Spring) Payload Capcity is 2,350 pounds 6.2L V8, 6 speed auto 45,000 miles 3.73 ELS Tow Rating: 12,000 lbs Proposed Trailer: 2020 Jayco 32BHDS, 2 Slides UVW: 8200 lbs CC: 1700 lbs GVWR: 9,900 lbs Tongue Weight Empty: 865 lbs 36' long Reese Strait Line w/Dual Cam Trunion 1,200 Lbs Bars I currently have a 2014 Jayco 29QBH (6800 lbs dry, 9250 GVWR, 33' long). I don't win any races....I get about 8 mpg (which I am ok with). I am looking to upgrade to a 6.7L diesel or 7.3L gas (new engine) in 2021. I am going to be OK with my current set-up for this year if I buy this new trailer? Thanks for your thoughts!Re: F-250 Towing Mileage Reduced by 25%Update: Mileage seems to have "normalized". I either got a bad tank of gas, or the stations were still using Winter blend fuel in April. I went Buffalo to Monroe Michigan and got 7.9 MPG and then back (tailwind) and got 8.5. This is closer to what I have been seeing. I met a guy at the campground that that the exact same truck and trailer as me, same size family, etc and he was getting 11.5 MPG towing 8,000 lbs (6.2L gas engine).....not sure how he was accomplishing that.F-250 Towing Mileage Reduced by 25%I took my 2015 F-250 4x4 6.2L V8 and trailer out for the first time this year. Truck has 15,200 miles on it and it is due for an oil change and tire rotation (right at the 5,000 mile mark). No check engine lights on at all. Gas mileage last year was 8-9 MPG towing 7500# (loaded) Jayco 29QBH. On this trip I averaged 6.2 MPG. (Hand calculated) Only things different from this year to last year: * Filled 1 30 lb propane cylinder * Trucks tires have 65 psi pressure in them compared to 60 psi last year. * I changed the air filter in the truck 2 weeks ago. I am looking for some ideas/thoughts on why my mileage has dropped so much. I understand that there are a number of factors such as wind, etc, but this just doesn't feel right and the truck seems to lack some power. TIA!!!Re: 2015 F-250 6.2L Gas Towing 7,600 dry camperI have the 3.73 ELS. Yes I have a Reese WDH with 1,200 # bars.2015 F-250 6.2L Gas Towing 7,600 dry camperI currently have a 2015 F-250 6.2L V8 GAS CC SB 4x4. Max Towing 12,000 pounds. I am looking at a 2017 Jayco 32BHDS, Dry Weight 7,600 pounds. I am thinking loaded I will be closer to 9,500 pounds. Does anyone have any experience towing this weight with an F-250/2500 Gas HD truck? I know that I will be at 75% of my tow rating, and I am not looking to win any races.... but, numbers and "feel" are 2 different things in my book. Looking for some real world feedback I currently have a Jayco 29QBS (6,600 # dry) so I will be the same length but about 1,000 pounds heavier. TIA!Looking for sites @ Green Lakes State Park, Syracuse, NYI was looking to stay at Green Lakes State Park in Syracuse, NY this summer with my family. Does anyone have a recommendation(s) for sites at this park? My trailer is 32' long and we would need electric hook-up. If anyone has stayed at this park in the past and has specific site recommendations that have electric hook-ups, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance for your help.Re: Jayco Jayflight - opinions from owners...?I bought a 2009 Jay Flight 26BH in Fall 2008. Got it for $12,995. Good fit and finish. I had no warranty issues that I needed to bring in to the dealer for. The 26BH was good for us for 2 small kids and a dog, but without a slide it was a bit cramped. I just saw my 2014 29QBH at the dealer on Sunday. I found 10 items that need to be addressed before I take delivery. Slide misaligned, caulk on the bed spread, putty ground into the carpet, putty on the head board, putty on the privacy curtain, back cargo door won't close. I agree with a previous poster that said that the factory leaves it to the dealer to "finish" the job.
