We start full-timing next month.Tennessee residencyBeen doing some research for full timing, looking at Tennessee as place to change our residency from Michigan, no income tax, no pension tax, don't tax social security, and insurance/vehicle registration cheaper. God whats not to like coming from the state that leads the nation in highest #1 insurance, and our registration is based on the msrp of the vehicle. Anyways, anyone familiar with residency requirements and is there any full time mail forwarding services there we can use as our home address?Jeep Cherokee Latitude towingLooking for information on towing the Cherokee. we are looking at purchasing a 2018 for towing when I retire in 1 1/2 yrs and go full-timing. I spoke to the dealer who said we need to have the Cherokee with active drive 2, that has the neutral, most dealers don't carry that on their lots, they get the active drive 1, and the 2's are very rare unless you order one. That being said, I talked to another full timer who has a 2014 Cherokee that he said he is getting rid of due to the "death wobble"....that's my bigger question. Has anyone else experienced this, where the front suspension system goes wacko when you hit a bump-railroad tracks- or any other large crater obstacle in the road? Its the first I've heard of it and I've owned 3 jeep's I the past, last one being a 2000 wrangler and a 2007 Liberty now that I never had a problem with towing. any feedback appreciated........ThanksWorking on the road fulltimeAre there any retired Law Enforcement officers out there that got any good ideas on what to do to earn some extra money while on the road fulltime? 20 months until retirement, me and wife hitting the road, gotta get out of Michigan (its only worth 3 months of summer anymore), would like some ideas of what I could do. thanksRetired Law Enforcement from MichigaJust wanted to get in contact and get some advise from any retired officers from Michigan that have the MERS retirement. I'll be retiring in 2yrs after 25yrs, me and the wife want to full time rv but the more I look into changing our domicile to florida or texas it sure seems to be a lot of headache to do it. My biggest thing is getting away from Michigan taxing my MERS, I wanna domicile where there is no state income tax and no tax on social security (when/if that day comes). The other concern in health insurance, I assume I have to buy health insurance in either of those 2 states, anyone got any ideas on how much that runs? Any advice would be great, thanks..........DonFlat towing vehiclesLooking at getting a new vehicle to tow behind our class A. Would like an all wheel drive. I've read the ford explorer owners manual and its a "no" for it. Does anyone know what SUV vehicles can be towed? Besides a Jeep, been there, done that. Thanks5th wheel weights and trucks to tow?????I'm sure i'm about to ask the million $ question, not the question worth a million but the one asked a million times. Looking at buying a 5th wheel for full timing, narrowed down to mobile suites or lifestyle, their gvwr are around 14000-16000 give or take. when looking a trucks to buy to pull, i'm looking at 350/3500,crew cab, 4x4, each will be almost the max 5th wheel tow capacity, and will exceed the CGVW. what confused me is i'm not sure i'm figuring it right to be safe and within the weight limits. i've read alot on the truck weight, the 5th wheel weights, the combined weights, and then you read someone else saying "oh yea you can pull more, i do, never had a problem, the manufactures rate them all low", bla bla bla. if a 350/3500 diesel cant pull 1700lbs or more then i might as well buy a semi. any adviseTruck ???????So, the biggest pickup i have ever owned was a toyota back in 1986 and a ford ranger some years later after i got out of the Marines, other than that i'm clueless about 1/4, 1/2, 1 ton, which is which in a chevy/ford. even though me and the wife are a few years out from full-time, i'm still planning ahead. we plan on getting a 5'ver, 38-40 ft long. whats going to be the BEST truck? already plan on getting a diesel. thanksBrake BuddyCan anyone tell me where i can buy a used brake buddy for a reasonable price???? i've checked several places and they are still priced almost like brand new, theres got to be a place where rv'ers who are getting out of it need to sell belongings for a reasonable price.House BatterysQuestion about storing house batterys............I took out the batterys this winter for storage, put them in the house where its warm until spring..........will they loose their charge and will i have to charge them before i install them, or can i just install them and charge them off the engine???
