"popping" jacks
DH and I are camped in Palm Desert, AZ and we've recently noticed something disturbing. It sounds (and feels) like our leveling jacks are slowly retracting...one notch at a time. By feeling, I mean the coach sometimes rocks a little at the time we hear the popping sound. Since the leveling gauge is a little off anyway, we use carpentry levels at different places on the coach, but we haven't noticed any appreciable difference. Also, we notice it most as the desert temps change whether warming in the morning or cooling at night. We have a 2015 Winnebago Sightseer 35G. HI- We're currently sitting in American RV Park a little west of Albuquerque on our way to California. I've been looking at the map for the area south of Flagstaff (an hour or so) for a place to stop, and I can't even find a village or town. Are there random campgrounds along 17 south? All we really need is electricity and we'll only be overnight, so it doesn't need to be wonderful. By the way, we're cutting west/southwest just north of Phoenix. Any ideas? Wow! Options galore! I appreciate all the suggestions. I'm going to start with the really clean window (steel wool+) suggestion, then do the dawn, jet dry deal to finish. Going to save my used dryer sheets and will probably try every method over time. Again, many thanks for the ideas. We're about to depart on a ten-day trip along the east coast, crossing the Chesapeake Bay, and ending up in Kentucky for the PGA Championship. DH has never been in this area, and I think the Chesapeake Bridge/Tunnel system is the 8th wonder of the world. To ensure that he can see all there is to see, I want to start every morning with a very clean windshield and front windows. I have a small ladder, extendable scrubber and squeegee and a collapsable bucket. Question is, what cleaner is best to use? Thanks, fanrgs and PA12DRVR- Unfortunately our two dogs are part of the package so we either take the RV or not visit Kodiak. The Kodiak Chamber site mentions the Buskin River Recreation area (as opposed to Ft. Abercrombie) for RVs, but I wondered if there were any private campgrounds...or anywhere else people found to stay the night. Since DH is less about the wildlife refuge than I, he can hang with the dogs while I take the boat trip. :-)313Views0likes0CommentsCamping on Kodiak Island?
Just sent a PM to Gary asking about RV spots, but thought I'd see what you all have done. Anyone camped on Kodiak Island? DH and I are waiting for a 35' (36.5') Winnebago Sightseer and will head for AK next summer. I'm trying to do some research ahead of time. Any experiences you can share will be appreciated.
