We'll look at google maps traffic reports in the morning and use that to decide where we get on the turnpike. We decided to drive part way today, so we only have 150 miles to go tomorrow.Daytona area to Key LargoWe'll be traveling to Key Largo on Saturday. This is our first trip that far south. Our mapping software is showing multiple route options through or around Miami after coming south on 95. The experts here have offered great advice on previous routes. What say you for a 44' class A towing a car headed to Key Largo? We do have Sunpass if the toll roads are the way to go.Thanks in advance for any advice!Re: Braintree VT to Lincoln NHThanks for the input. All advice is appreciated!Re: Braintree VT to Lincoln NHI think we'll take VT 62 to 302 to 93 S. Should be a pretty ride. Thanks for the reply. We appreciate hearing from a "local" who actually knows the roads.Braintree VT to Lincoln NHWe will be traveling from a campground in Braintree VT to Lincoln NH in our 44' diesel pusher towing our car. One possible route is showing as I-89 N to VT 63 E to 302 E to NH 112 E to Lincoln. Another is I-89 S to US-4 E to NH-118 N to NH 25 to I-93 N. Does anyone have experience with these routes? Do you recommend another route? Thanks!Re: Do Command Strips work in RVs?Thanks, everyone! I went to Home Depot after work, and found what I hope will be perfect. It's a Command Sticky Nail Sawtooth Hanger. Basically, a metal plate with a nail head at the top. It came with Command Strips good for 5 pounds. I instead used a pair of the 16 pound picture hanging strips I already had to mount it on the wall. I'll let it set overnight, and will try to hang the clock tomorrow. My plan is to take the clock down when traveling. It will just take seconds to take it down and rehang it.Re: Do Command Strips work in RVs?Thanks for your quick replies! Using a Command Strip hook, and taking the clock down when traveling, may be the way to go. So simple, but I hadn't thought of it! The wall where I want to mount the clock is hidden when the slide is in anyway. I won this clock years ago for winning High in Trial with my obedience dog, and I would hate to have it fall and get damaged while traveling!Do Command Strips work in RVs?I would like to mount a clock in our Ventana. The clock weighs 3.5 pounds, and is mounted in a 11.5 x 15 inch wooden wall plaque. I’ll need to take it off the wall to change the time, change battery, etc. I don’t want to put holes in the wall, plus our studs are metal, not wood. I am thinking of using a LOT of Command Strip picture hangers. These use the same Command Strip adhesive that can be removed by pulling on the strip that that sticks out, put are plastic Velcro where the two sides meet. The ones I have say they’re good for 16 pounds. Has anyone used these in an RV? Will they holdup to the bouncing while traveling on rough roads, and the heat of storage?Re: Towing a CRVWe're in the process of getting our 2013 CRV ready to tow behind our Newmar Ventana that we'll be picking up in June. We also chose the Ready Brute Elite with Blue Ox tow bar, and had that installed last week. Yesterday, I built the switch shown in the thread below to kill fuse 19 when towing, instead of having to pull the fuse every trip. I can't believe how easy it was to do, how well it works, and how professional it looks. http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/26-racks-hitches-towing/51441-towing-crv-build-switch-pull-fuse.html SusanQuestion abour Ready Brake turnbuckleWe have an appointment next week to have our 2013 Honda CRV set up to be towed. This will be our first toad, and we know we have a lot to learn. After a lot of research, we’re having a Blue Ox base plate installed, the tail lights wired, and we have also purchased a ReadyBrute Elite tow bar, and the ReadyStop emergency break away kit that will be installed on the Honda. We’re having this work done before we drive to pick up our RV. Anything that will need to be done to the RV itself will be completed at the RV dealer. The base plate installer is experienced with Blue Ox and Hondas, but not with ReadyBrute. My question is about the NSA Ready Brake turnbuckle. I seem to remember reading a few posts from people who were glad they had installed this turnbuckle to make adjustments easier, so for $15 I ordered one. Should I ask the installer to install the turnbuckle when he’s installing the cables to the Honda? Any other advice for newbies with this system is welcome. Thanks!
