It charges the batteries %100 if I go on a long drive, which I do plenty of. I was just trying to make some sense of how this thing works.Re: Any battery experts in here? The charger acts like an isolator. It's a battery to battery charger. Promariner digital mobile charge 40. It monitors the starting battery and gives it priority. Once the starting battery is above the required volts it starts to charge the house batteries. Battery monitor is a xantrax linklite.Re: Any battery experts in here?Ok, so I got my batteries set up and everything. Ended up pulling the console and puttiing them there with a custom console over it. But I'm not quite understanding how the charging works. I've got 2 155 amp hour agm batteries and the pro mariner 40 amp charger and a xantrax monitor. I've got lights, tv and mini fridge all hooked up running on a 1000 watt inverter. All works fine, but the charging part is baffling me. From what I've learned, the charger charges in "fast charge" mode until it gets over 12.8 volts then kicks into "absorption" charge. Yesterday I got it down to about 12.2-12.3 volts. I drive down the highway for over 2 hours before the absorption charge kicked in. About half hour after that kicked in I had to stop but left it running. The volts were 13. Started driving again, and not 5 minutes after driving the absorption charge stopped and volts dropped down to 12.5. Had to stop again, this time I turned the engine off. When I started it back up the volts shot up to 12.9 and the absorption charge kicked back in. Got to my spot for the night about 10 minutes later and shut her off. Just fired it back up like an hour ago and volts went up to 12.9 again and absorption change kicked in. Then after it idled for a bit the volts dropped back down to 12.5. Been idleiing for over an hour and the volts are at 12.6. There are times when I will drive just in town for an hour or so and the volts will actually be .1 lower than when I left, and the inverter isn't even on. Sorry to be so long winded, but I don't know **** about this and I'm confused as hell. Can any experts shine some light on this?Re: to the honda2000 owners.... goreds2 wrote: goreds2 wrote: I have been wanting to pull the trigger on a Honda 2000. Will the Honda continue to run the Air Conditioner while in transit? Asking because my Dash AC has not worked well in the past couple years and my plan is to place the Honda 2000 on my rear cargo basket and drive around with it turned on. I am not sure if the Honda 2000 has a sensor to stop the unit if it moves etc. Thanks, EDIT: My 89 Xplorer has a 7100 BTU air conditioner. Anyone know? :) I think so. I was talking to someone on a facebook page who uses a Champion 4000 and runs it while she drives, so I would have to assume the Honda would too. I dont see why not. Is your screen name a Modest Mouse reference?Re: Coleman mach 1 power saver on a honda 2000Ok, thanks guys. I just need to quit screwing with it is what your saying, lol. Puts me at ease.Coleman mach 1 power saver on a honda 2000So I just had the Coleman mach 1 power saver installed in my van. 11,000 btu. 1080 running watts so I figured my honda 2000 could run it. It starts and runs fine, but when I turn the temp. knob over to hot, then back to cold again it trips the breaker. Im assuming me turning the knob like that is basically what it will do when it cycles, but im not sure. The part that is confusing is that I had it running for like 5 hours the other day no problem. It isnt very hot out yet, but I have to assume the compressor kicked on and off and some points. Also, I can switch from high fan to low cool with no problems either. Only when I turn the temp knob. Im pretty sure ive seen people say they run similar setups on a honda 2000. Anyone have a similar setup have any opinions? Im really hoping to not have to buy another 2000 and parallel them.to the honda2000 owners....im wondering what kind of rooftop type air conditioner you guys are running with your honda 2000 generators. So far, ive found that the coleman polar cub 9200 and coleman mach 3 power saver can be run with this generator, just wondering if there is anything else.Re: ryobi 2200w generator extended run tank SoundGuy wrote: cubbear wrote: Check with Paul @ Pinellas Power Products might make a kit if needed Scott Malkinson wrote: Thanks ill check them out. Pinellas Power Products ... click on "Products" and you'll see the company offers after market solutions for Honda, Yamaha, and Champion gensets - yet another reason to stick with one of those 3 brands. ;) Awesome. Thank you. I called ipi today and the ryobi does have to be gravity fed. According to the guy at ipi, only the honda has a fuel pump able to use a non gravity fed, standard aux tank. Ill see what these pinellas guys have come up with.Re: ryobi 2200w generator extended run tank cubbear wrote: Check with Paul @ Pinellas Power Products might make a kit if needed Thanks ill check them out.Re: ryobi 2200w generator extended run tank MrWizard wrote: Did you open the cover, did you look in the parts list in the manual Does it have a fuel pump That is the big question hard to use an extended run tank on a generator that does not have a fuel pump Yeah, thats what ive heard. Has to have an internal electric fuel pump. I asked the guy at the Home Depot and he couldnt even find any information on it. The maker of the auxiliary tank says its compatible on the website but doesnt specify if it needs to be gravity fed or not.
