A true hemi has the valve stems 90 degrees to each other and a direct line from intake to exhaust port. The new hemi is more of a splayed valve. Since Dodge is the truck line almost all of their heavy trucks rely on the Cummins 6.7. Now that would make a nice RV chassis but no one wants a FRED. FREDs are inherently noisy. Randy BS The 426 hemi valves were 180 degrees to each other and so are the new 5.7 and 6.4 engines first of all 426 valves are 90 degrees apart. Second the new "HEMI" is not ever close to true hemi. Chrysler stole the design over 60 years ago and then copyrighted the word and now it is catch phrase and not a true design.Re: Is this completely ridiculous? The only rediculous thing is worrying about what other people think is rediculous! You have to live the life that makes you happy.Re: Class A or Bigger Truck?I love my class A and would not go to a 5er. But if you like your 5er to me it is a no brainer. Get a truck and be happy!Re: Cleaning out a cast iron blockFirst the freeze plugs in a 454 are too high in the block to let you see much less break up and remove what has settled in the bottom of the water jackets. Second removing and replacing freezer plugs in the confines of an engine bay with The exhaust manifold is very likely going to lead to leaks. I have even had customers crack cylinder walls trying to get freeze plugs out without knowing what they are doing. Your best bet short of disassembling the whole engine is to pull the hoses and pump and just blast a ton of water through it and hope you got most of the rust out..Re: Road side no service Triker33 wrote: If I wanted a mobile service I could have called them myself. But you would also have to pay for the service call. GS pays the service call $$. You only pay for after they get there. So how was the fixed done? And the problem? for some reason the emergency brake locked up. I refused service and managed to free it up enough to limp it home at 10 mph.Road side no serviceOn Friday as I started out on a trip I got about a mile from my home when I had a breakdown. Called GS roadside assistance to get it towed home. After almost an hour on the phone they told me that they instead of towing it they would send a mobile repair and all I would have to do is pay them whatever they wanted. If I wanted a mobile service I could have called them myself. She also told me that if the roadside service couldn't fix even though I payed for it then they would have it towed to the nearest repair facility (30 miles away)and I would have to pay them .Butthey would not tow it to my house 1 mile away. I think it is time for someone to stop running around playing TV star and telling people how to fix their companies and find someone to fix his!Re: 30 amp 110 or 220 volt? AikenRacer wrote: I am using two 30 amp breakers that are hooked together as one presently in the breaker box that used to go to a stove that we no longer have. I bought a 30 amp RV box at Lowes. So my present wiring is the top 30 amp breaker in the box has one wire going to one side of the new 30 amp receptacle. The bottom 30 amp breaker is wired going to the other side of the new 30 amp receptacle. That is why I figured it is 220 volts. Is this wired right for a mh? do not under any circumstances plug your rv into that.!!!Re: Unique situation -- not sure what to getI think it is a perfectly logical question. If you know you need a tub then finding out if is available is important. In vintage units small tubs are common. Newer units not so common but they do exist. If this is what you want to do don't let anyone scare you off. Keep researching and asking questions and you will find what you want and need.Re: Any Guitar Players Here?Guitar player? No I don't think what I do could be called guitar playing. I make noise that scares dogs and small children. I have a PRS se 245 and a fender mustang amp that I never leave home without. Will be going full time in the next 6 to 12 months so I making a permanent storage spot for them in the motor home.Re: An Interesting PrevostThis is so much nicer then 95% of the prevost coaches out there. I can not understand why anyone would want those shiny cabinets. I don't think most people who buy them really like it. They let some designer tell them it looks rich and classy. When it really looks cheap and gaudy.
