All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: First exprience with RA -- not the best ... butK3MMB I feel your pain!! I had almost an identical issue with RSA. The major difference being that dispatch actually didn't know what a 5th wheel trailer was. I kid you not, this girl sincerely did not know that a 5er was. I had one heck of a time convincint her that it was not a semi trailer. In fact she thought I was kidding her!! Long story short, I was in the same situation and could not get my camp side slide to retract. I had to be back to work the next day and could not get through to RSA so I made arrangements, and payment, to leave the trailer in the site. I finally got to talk to a dispatcher and after at least 20 minutes of discribing what a 5th wheel was she agreed to dispatch some assistance. About 15 minutes later I get a call from a fellow asking me where my semi was broke down. My wife was beside herself with laughter but I was not amused at all. I managed to get the slide in myself after much toil and frustration and got it to a dealer. Trust me when I say that I was not long cancelling my subscription. I cannot really blame the dispatcher but moreso the training department. Back with AMA.Re: Westlake tires??You guys are awesome!!! Thanks a bunch!!Re: Westlake tires??Right you are NC Hauler. ST235/80R16 is the tire on the unit which is a Solitude 379FL which is a 42'. According to their website it's one of their better tires, it's just that I have never heard of this company.Re: Purchasing a 5th wheel? Watch video about Grand Design RVGood to hear for sure. We are seriously looking at a 379FL but are concerned about a few things, such as the quality of their electronics, tires, etc. I have never heard of Furion electronics or Westlake tires.Westlake tires??Hey Folks, just wondering what your take is on Westlake tires. They come standard on the Solitude 379FL and I have never heard of them. Should I look at an upgrade if I buy this 5er? Thanks.Re: Traveling from Glacier National Park to Dawson Creek, BCI agree with trigley. Not much to see from Glacier to Calgary on Hwy 2. 22 is much nicer. I suggest taking 17 through Chief Mountain and to Waterton and Pincher Creek. Head north from there on Hwy 3 for a spurt and then hook up with Hwy 22. Turn left on the Trans Canada just west of Calgary and enjoy the view. Have fun!! And I wouldn't worry about any height restrictions. Just a note that it can get a little windy in them parts so just be aware. Check out Denise's Bistro in Pincher Creek if you get the chance.Re: Canadian Full Timers and InsuranceI really don't have much to suggest other than the obvious such as AMA Travel and Blue Cross. I will be watching closely though as we are contemplating doing the same in the next couple of years and are trying to gain as much info as possible. Congratulations on the move and all the best of luck. The Yukon is absolutely breathtaking by the way. The restaurants in Whitehorse are amazing and the history unforgettable. Take the White Pass train ride if you get the chance. It's unbelievable.Re: Redwood or Solitude?Thank you all for your valuable opinions and advice. We will most certainly concider all of the replies before making our decision. Happy camping and RVing to all!!!Redwood or Solitude?Hey folks, we are looking at upgrading to a new 5er and have narrowed our decision down to two rigs, a Solitude and a Redwood. Both are about the same price and are both new. The Redwood is a 36RL and the Solitude is the same floor plan. The Redwood has more features and seems higher end. Which is the better buy??Re: Air bags, add a leaf, or overload springsIv'e had air bags on two of my trucks now and the work wonderfully. Very easy to install and not that expensive. But do as the other folks say and loader up and then make the call. Good luck and happy camping!!!
