I just replaced my OS fan motor, and also replaced the fan shaft carrier bearing with a permanently sealed bearing. Its a PITA job, but not real hard. clicky Good luck DaveRe: Towing with Class A in OntarioCanada is a signee to the same Driver License Compact as all 50 States, all US Provinces, and nearly all foreign countries. The only differences might be weight, height, and length issues as well as braking equipment. Your issued State License will always be good wherever the Driver License Compact is honored. Safe travelsRe: Double Pane WindowsWe just replaced the dual pane entry door window in our 2006 Horizon. My brother is in the glass business. He said it MUST be tempered glass in a vehicle as standard plate glass will create deadly shards in an accident. The tempered glass will just create glass nuggets. What is interesting is the windshield is not tempered glass, but the two layers of standard glass are sandwiched with a layer of clear plastic material between to keep it all together in a crash.Re: Maximum Driving Length and LicenseAw but it's fun to throw in a few facts every now and thenRe: Maximum Driving Length and LicenseI love when this topic comes up. Retired from 41 years of Driver License administration. State law in each state lays out who can drive and what private drivers drive. The Federal government (ICC) (DOT) governs commercial laws and makes exceptions to States regarding to speed, weights, width and heights. They created the CDL licensing rules, and define the CDL vehicle classes, and the endorsements used by the States on those licenses. The Driver License Compact (DLA) is an agreement entered into by all the states and administered by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators(AAMVA)..look here . The compact allows each State to create their own set of non CDL licensing laws, but requires every state to honor the rules set forth by the driver's home State. Note, AAMVA, the Compact (DLA) only applies to non CDL operators. Your state may require a special license for an RV (private vehicle/non CDL, but every compact state must honor the rules of a traveler's home state Safe travels everyone.Re: Fan ControllerThanks all, That's pretty much what I was thinking. Low fan all the time except for high temps OR AC on. I was reading on another forum a post from an owner who said "Freightliner said cold engine fan off to normal temp then low to high" mine has never done that. Guess I am ok....On to Texas later this month.Fan ControllerOn our 2006 Itasca Horizon w/Cummins 400 We had some temp issues out west in June. Warning temps when climbing and I had to downshift to cool things off. Got home cleaned the RAD and all looks good. Issue now is the cooling fan runs all the time on high speed....IF the AC is on. If the AC is off it runs low speed. Doing some research it seems the fan should be off until the engine reaches operating temp. Then low until nearing high temps. Is this correct?Re: Need Help On Trip to Hurricane, UtahHi Becker, The routes posted are good. The ride through the mountains is pretty easy and secnic just take your time. The difference is incredible! Will probably do the rears soon, but the fronts do more of the work we actually feel.
