All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Winnebago Dealer Recommendation for the NortheastI live in Millers Falls, MA and I would recommend Diamond RV in Hatfield, MA also. That is where we bought our used Winnebago Sightseer from. They have been very good to us.2007 Tiffin AllegroMy hubby and I looked at a 2007 Tiffin Allegro 35TS the other day. We now own a 2003 Winnebago Sightseer, but we have been wanting to see a Tiffin. LOVED the coach! 12,000 miles only, owned by an older couple who ended up surrendering it as they have health issues. 3 slides. Well, my husband heard something in the motor (pretty sure the motor), then found out that Tiffin stopped using a Chevy motor in this coach around 2012 we were told. That kind of raised a red flag. My question is, does anyone own one of these coaches and have you had trouble with this motor in this coach? Thank you in advance.Rug Shampooer? We have a 2003 Winnebago Sighseer that has light green rugs throughout the coach. We lived in it for 3 months last summer when we made our trip to Alaska (the trip of a lifetime!). When we had our motorhome serviced last fall, we asked to have the rugs shampooed again. We would have had to bring it back at a later date and were quoted a cost of $400.00 to shampoo the rugs. No way were we paying that! I have been on the search for a small steam rug shampooer and can not find one! Any suggestions would be appreciated.Re: End of full timing may be soonMy husband and I took our trip of a Lifetime to Alaska this past summer from Massachusetts. While in Haines, Alaska for 7 weeks, we went to Kroschels Wildlife Center and learned about the GERSON THERAPY. Google GERSON CLINIC. If I found that I had cancer, you bet my RV trip would be to this clinic down in Mexico. You have to have an open mind to this. If you go onto Amazon, they are selling dvd's about the Gerson Therapy. I was so amazed by this, that when we got back home, I ordered a Nutibullet, and have already cut my meds by half for my fibromyalgia. It would take too long to explain on here. Order a dvd on Amazon and see what I am talking about. Good Luck!Re: ATV Friendly campgrounds in New England? We go to Abbot, Maine ATVing. We love it there, people are so friendly and helpful. We are planning our trip to Abbot, ME again next fall. The only camp that I know of is the Balsam Woods Campground in Abbot, where the atv trails take off right from the campground. Up near Moosehead Lake. Don't know about the golfing near by. Check the rule for the kiddos, don't know what they are. You will have to register in Maine, as they do not honor other states registrations. Just Google, ATVing in Maine. Have fun.NICE, NEW RV Campground, Washington state, over border..1/2 mile from Canada in the town of Oroville, WA. On our way back from Alaska, we were driving on 97 South through Canada yesterday. Did not realize the towns of Vernon, Osoyoos, B.C. were so touristy to say the least. Would not have been able to find a place to stay up there if our life depended on it. So, crossed the border at Oroville, WA. Being exhausted after driving 13 hours and putting on 566 miles, we asked at the gas station over the border where the closest RV park was. He directed us to Bains' RV Park just down the road. Took a wrong turn and were greeted by the nice Border Patrolman after having to unhook our tow Jeep in order to turn around in their parking lot (he was just seeing if we were okay, LOL, right). Got ourselves turned around and made it to the park at 9:00 p.m., dark, raining, and we were exhausted. There is only one other Class C in this park besides us. On the side of the mountain, overlooking Osoyoos Lake. 24 sites, all LONG back ins. Full hookups, showers, laundry, fishing/boat dock nearby. Only one other class C in this park besides us. Fits my hubby and I to a tee. Only drawback, no shade, running our AC all day, but the place makes up for it, believe me.Re: Suggestions please - North shore of Lake SuperiorHeading up there ourselves next week sometime, or the week after from our trip to Alaska (a whole other story). Don't know a heck of a lot about the private campgrounds, but ANY state parks, which there are a lot of on the north shore, are great. This will be our second visit to MN, as we stayed for over a week the end of May, and stayed only at state parks. They have water, electricity, dump station and WiFi. They also have showers/bathrooms. Love Minnesota! A lot of hiking trails on the north shore, fishing (only state I know of that offer husband/wife fishing licenses), ATVing, biking. Go online and order your free travel MN guidebook. They are very quick to respond. ENJOY! We are.Re: Alaska by RV, solo or caravan . . . . opinions pleaseGetting ready to leave Haines, AK after 7 weeks of being here at the Hitch-Up RV Park as you come into town. It is the best RV Park in the whole state of Alaska, and that is not just our opinion. The owners take such meticulous care of this park it is unbelievable. The reason I am posting under this topic, is that we spoke with a gentleman today and he spoke with us about traveling with other RV's and he stated that he can not wait to be traveling solo again. So hard to all agree on what to do. Hope that comment helps you some. Good luck planning your trip.Cassiar HighwayGetting ready to leave Haines, AK and start heading home to Massachusetts:( We are going to head down through BC on the Cassiar, since we came up the Alaska Hwy. Someone told us that they have driven it and that it extremely narrow (we knew that) and that when it rains, it is a mud pit where they are doing construction, and that they are doing construction all the time. Has any one driven the Cassiar recently? Any problems? Thanks in advance.Health Insurance QuestionIf my husband and I go full-time, I will need health insurance as I am not eligible for SS, and will not be for a while. My husband does already have SS benefits. Does anyone know of a reasonable insurance that I can get to cover me any where in the U.S?
