Particularly, everyone that has a blowout that they blame on imported tires. Lots of times. Trailer tire issues didn't just start with imported tires. Guess some weren't around back then but we had the same issues before the net or China ever imported trailer tires to the US and all trailer tires were made in the USA by BFG/Goodyear/Firestone/Delta/Cooper and others I've forgotten. The problem is the ST tires design and being a niche tire mfg methods to some extent. The ST tire is what it is. There are several China and other Asian rim country P and LT tire brands on the market that are excellent on RVs and even commercial trailers and don't have ST tire reliability issues. I agree the design of the ST tire is deficient for heavy RV use.Re: What are you pulling with you 3//4 diesel truck? 2oldman wrote: chevor wrote: Do you see anything wrong with this. The truck is dwarfed by the 5er? A strong side wind will put you in the next lane? We pull a 38' 5th wheel with a 3/4 ton with airbags. Have been in strong side winds on I10 between Blythe and Indio/Palm Springs, CA. So strong the Interstate was eventually closed. Yes, some buffeting but nothing so drastic as causing us to change lanes. I suggest not trying to over sell the benefits of a 1 TON SRW or even a 1 Ton with DRW. I suspect there is some improvement but not nearly quite as much as you are trying to promote!Re: Millenicom increased to $89/month for 20GBHow about mobile Satellite as an option?Re: Emails to renew Good Sam Roadside Assitance 4 months early. Thank you, Frank So if I understand all that has been stated here no change is going to happen until I call Member services and then it will be to my account only. So in essence nothing in general is going to happen. Is this correct?Re: TV needs new rubber!Have had the Michelin LTX M/S on my Ford F250 for over 70,000 miles towing a 13,000 lb 5th wheel. Probably still have 15 to 25% tread left. Second set of tires on the truck with 148,000 miles on it. The ride is slightly harder than the OEM Firestones but not significantly. Have never had a flat or any kind of problem with them. Sidewall strength is completely adequate for windy road conditions. I've rotated them free of charge at Costco every 5,000 miles or so. I'm completely satisfied with them and recommend them highly.Emails to renew Good Sam Roadside Assitance 4 months early. Is it really necessary to start bombarding us with emails to renew our service 4 months before it expires? Have had the service for years and have never filed a claim. I would expect a email thanking us for being profitable customers for you, not just another email address to bombard with spam emails. PS: We did have an occasion where we should have called for service but were in such a remote area we decided to repair the problem ourselves because it took us less time to do so than we estimated how long it was going to take to get a service truck out to us. Please use some common sense in your marketing programs.Re: 3/4 v 1 ton 4x4 Keystone MontanaDuplicateRe: After Market add ons '02 F350 Diesel CC 4x4We have 2003 F250 Lariat with the 7.3L diesel. Have been puling a 38' Keystone Montana 3400RL for 7 years. Have only added rear air bags and an additional aftermarket transmission cooler. Have pulled many 6% or better grades over the years. 145,000 miles and might be just broken in by now. Still on second set of tires. Running Michelin M&S with more than 25% tread left.Re: Heartland vs. Keystone 5th wheelsWe have a 2006 Keystone Montana. Have had an unusual amount of major problems. I must have had the tire and rim “dunked” 5-6 times with NO bubbles visible. One tire shop finally dis-mounted the tire and on removal of the metal stem found that the molded seal had been installed at an angle and pinched between the rim and the stem. They said that when the tire wasn’t rotating it would seal OK, when the tire was rotating there just enough “rim flex” even though it would only flex a few thousandths of an inch it would squeak out a small amount of air every rotation. They installed a new metal stem and seal and the air loss went to “zero”. Excellent investigative work!
