All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutions8.1 Power LossI have a 2006 Sunvoyager with a 8.1, 2100MH Allisonon a 24,000 Workhorse Chasis. Currently at Moab traveling in the West from Fl. I got a check engine light and took it in to a shop at Wells, Nv. Nothing came up on a scan so we had the fuel filter changed. It was a little dirty but not clogged. The problem I had was a loss of power. After the filter change it runs down the road no problem until we get an incline in the mountains. Went up a 5% grade and it dropped to 38mph trying to get up the hill. The temp gauge stays in the middle but the cooling fans run a lot of the time. I have not lost any coolant so I am really trying to figure it out. Our next stop is Albuquerque so any suggestions are appreciated. Also if anyone knows a good shop in Albuquerque, I would be glad to have that info also. Thanks in advance for any assistance.Hwy 20 thru YellowstoneWe will be camping in Cody mid May then heading to Idaho Falls. Is it possible to drive thru Yellowstone with a 39'mh and a 37' 5th wheel or do we have to go back to I90 to I15.Roads to YellowstoneHeading to Cody about the third week of May. Anyone with any experience on Hwy 16 from Buffalo or Hwy 14 from Sheridan? Traveling with 2 40ft Mh and 38ft 5th wheel. Thanks for the help.Oil capacity for dash a/c compressorAnyone know where I can find the oil capacity for a Delphi A/C compressor? It is on my 2006 GM 8.1 and I just can't seem to find how much it takes. I am getting it serviced before I hit the road in May and the people that will service it need to know the oil capacity. Any help is appreciated.Roof A/cI have an appointment to get a 15,000 roof ac checked tomorrow. I think it is losing freon which will require a new one. I am considering a possible Heat Pump or at least new ac with heat strips. My question is, do heat strips really do any good in 20 - 30 degree weather. I know a Heat Pump will work fine but I am not sure it will justify the additional cost including a new thermostat. Thanks for any help.Generator ProblemI have a Onan 7K Generator in my 2006 Sunvoyager that has been working great. I traveled from Fl to Sc and every time I stopped at a rest area I fired it up and it worked fine. When I got to the first exit in Sc I cranked it up and no power to the coach. It cranks up and runs with no problems but will not switch power to the coach. I checked for fuses, breakers and the breakers on the unit both seem fine. I even contacted Gulfstream to find out if there was a fuse or disconnect I was missing and they suggested a transfer switch on the generator. I am about 80 miles from the closest repair place and am open to any suggestions of anything I could look for or try. I really do not need it right now but I would like to get it working in case of a power outage when I get back home in 2 weeks. Any suggestions or input is appreciated. I only have a wiring diagram for the generator but if anyone knows where I could get a parts breakdown of the generator would also be great info. Thanks in advance for any help.Re: I-75 RV Park in Tifton, GeorgiaIf you go a little farther south to Perry/Elko there is a park about 1/4 mi east called Twin Oaks. It is a Passport America Park and has pull thrus, pool, and a jacquzzi. About 3 to 3 1/2 hrs to Fl line. Very nice owners/mgrs and I think it is only $20 a night. Cant beat it.Re: Kellys RV park in White Springs FloridaNancil. We live at Kellys and take off in the summer for workamping jobs. We a lot of Snowbird friends so we make sure to be back home in the Fall. With all the rain we had lately the river overflowed and came to the back entrance but is now receding. Just for info, the Telford reopened about a month ago with new owners. Lees campground located west of White Springs on 136 is now closed so Kellys is the closest other than the Stephen Foster. There is also Oaks and Pines on I-10 and 441. Good luck.Re: Oil Hubs ( front)If it is a Workhorse then fill it to the line only. You need to rotate the tire so the fill plug is on top. If you go to workhorse.com you can print a manual for the chasis which tells you everything about it. I have 2006 W24 and printed one. Takes a lot of paper but it is worth it. I you have any questions, pm me and I can look it up in the manual for you.Re: Older Satellite/ TV equipmentI have a Winegard Dome on my 2006 coach which has worked great wherever I go. The problem with these domes are they are not upgradable to what the new receivers require. If I use my old single Dish (311) Receiver it works fine. But when I take my Dual DVR Receiver with me I have to put out a portable dish that has a HD Dish so I can get a signal. My wife would be devastated if she could not have any Tv when we travel. I have no problem with just reading a good book or hiking. I remember when we first started camping and all we did then was sit around the fire and chew the fat. It is terrible to get old. Happy Camping.
