It is a power gear set up. You can still get gears for these you just have to look around. I called Red Bay ( thanks mikestock ) they really didn't know but said they have replaced new gears with in a month and blamed them on material that they make them now days. But they sent me on the right direction. It turns out someone changed the motor out with a high tork that would be used in a Large slide ( looks the same ). To much pressure. Soooo be careful in or out Don't hold it on once in or out. Have two more spare gears till I will drop a dime on a new motor. Thanks again for everyone's help.Re: 2006 Tiffin slide gears keep shearingIt doesn't really stall it just sounds like two seals coming together or tightRe: 2006 Tiffin slide gears keep shearingThank you Tiffin did ship a gear that they said would fit but was the wrong one. this wasn't easy but We did after much resource find the right gear ( perfect match teeth, size, thickness was a replacement for unit )that was on hand. The large slide does stop and does not rachet. it is the same a the bedroom ? If this is the case with the side as soon as you hear it tighten up let off switch ? If that's the case this is Very temper mental. OR does the transmission clutch take up the slack so the teeth don't shear as easy ?Re: 2006 Tiffin slide gears keep shearingThank you by chance do you have a #2006 Tiffin slide gears keep shearingI have a 2006 Tiffin with electric slides that the bedroom slide had the gear shear some of the teeth off. have had it replaced. After two to three times ( during testing ) bring it in it happened again. Person that replaced it said someone held the button in to long which caused it to. The manual says once it gets in should hold button for another 5 to 8 seconds. Which at the most was done. Question is isn't there a stop or breaker that when enough pressure it shuts off. My other slide has no problems.
