All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsSacramento Valley RV for serviceSac Valley was recommended to us in an emergency situation. Came to take our motor home on a trip only to discover the Norcold refrigerator would not come on. Now know we had the recall work done 4 years earlier but apparently that safety module was causing problems, again! This was not fixable using a magnet as those of you who have had the recall done know about. I called at 7:30 AM and left a message as SV RV doesn't open until 8AM. I was not expect a quick call back shortly after they opened so figured I would give them a chance to start their coffee, say good morning etc before calling again. Maybe about 10 after the hour. But at 8:03, a woman called. I was immediately impressed... We talked about my problem to which she said is common and they stock the necessary parts. Now this is what blew me away. She said she could have the tech be to me between 9 and 10 AM even though his schedule was pretty booked. She said they know what it's like to be trying to start a trip and have problems before ever leaving and they do everything they can to get immediate attention to people. The tech, Kevin was here about 10:10 AM. Impressive. In less than 30 minutes he had the refrigerator running. I had happened to mention a water leak from what I thought was fresh water storage. Kevin looked at it, found the source, crawled under our class A and fixed the leak. And this wasn't even what I had called Sacramento Valley RV for. Impressed? We certainly are!!! Call them... 916-672-6100 Located in Loomis, CA just off I-80 north east of Sacramento....Re: To sell or not to sellDon't know if you have figured out your problem. From the comments I could also not tell if this is an electrical issue or an engine issue. Twice in the past year we have been traveling on the road around 60 MPH and suddenly the power went away. When slowed to 20 MPH we could just barely move. Took it to the CAT repair. Problem was two sensors. One reads barometric pressure and the other altitude density. We had this problem diagnosed and the first repair shop told me of the problem and replaced ONLY one of the sensors. The problem happened again 9 months later. This time a full CAT dealer said, they diagnosed the problem correctly but the manufacture say even if only one sensors fails or is acting up, BOTH sensors must be replace. The repair bill was $1400 however the dealer, HOLT CAT in Sacramento CA was able to get CAT to warranty the work of the other dealer and it cost us $310. Yes, $310...you read it correctly.Re: oil leakCould be the hydraulic pump for the slides. Doesn't look like hydraulic fluid on it though. More like engine oil. Hydraulic is the same color as trans fluid or close to it.Re: Can a Chevy spark be flat towed?I provided incorrect info. There is no longer any information about towing on the GS.com site. However with their magazine 'Motorhome' we received a separate booklet on the info. But I see others have provided an actual link..Re: Can a Chevy spark be flat towed?Good Sam has a complete section on towables on line..Re: Tankless Water Heater, good and bad pleaseGreat for a long hot shower. Just depends on if you are using stored water on board or hooked to water and drain service.Re: Traveling the back roadsAlways take the side-back roads when we can and have the time. On one trip in CA heading east from Barstow CA toward Arizona on highway 40, saw that old route 66 went alongside winding in and out and under 40. So thought that would be fun. Actually it had 66 signs occasionally painted on it.....for many miles. But it kept getting worse and worse, rougher and rougher until I was almost out of paved road. Finally had to slow to 5 MPH, stop, unhook, turn around, hook back up and reverse drive for 5 miles until an opportunity to turn off, cross the active rail line and get back on 40 going east. Lots of fun but added a couple hours to the drive time, dinking around on basically a paved road about to turn to dirt.Re: At Pismo Coast VillageWe are 3 spaces toward the ocean from this 5th wheel passenger side. It was raining very very hard most all night and suddenly we had a gustnado. (look it up) lasting about 5 minutes. It happened at 7:45 AM and there were 4 people sleeping inside. Both grand parents, 2 grand kids, 1 in the slide on the driver side which was crushed down to less than 3 feet high. All are fine, no injuries. Their son and daughter-in-law were in their 5th wheel next door and also had some roof damage and broken AC cover, but was able to eventually take it away. His truck, parked between the two, had a caved roof and a 3" branch punched thru the windshield. Its probably a total as well. There were 7 trees knocked down plus another 6 or 8 requiring serious branch removal. All in the space of 200 yards. It's been 3 full days of Rick's Tree Service everywhere all day not to mention Pismo Coast Village staff.Re: RV.netAdmin.. I can understand the issues of spammers and porn on the CL like posting. Some just want to kill things for the rest of us. Its all over the news anymore. This protest, that loud mouth, on and on.. Good old days of appreciation and respect are gone.Re: RV.netIt would be nice if CL had a camping/RVing specific slot to place items. I have three items there now for most of the past year. All I get are Crank/Prank emails. The scam stuff. I would be willing to pay RV.Net a fee to place items there to sell. I agree, they want to sell NEW products but there is a market for used stuff too. Not junk but good quality. I have a wireless lightbar for towing that sells for $325 on line. I have not seen it at CW. I would like to sell it for $200! Its almost brand new. That would not be in competition with CW.
