All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Harvest HostWe have belonged to Harvest Hosts for at least 7 years and love it. When visiting a winery, you pull in, chat with the owners, maybe sip some wine and they go home. And there you are, parked in vineyards, pretty nice! There are sites that are not wineries such at French Cheese Company in Tillamook, Oregon. We even had a winery in Paso Robles, CA asked if we wanted to plug in! And if you refer someone who signs up, you each receive an extra month added to your membership! I would say, try it for a year and see if it works for you!Re: Roadside assistance plansWe have Good Sam now. We have a F550 with a Lance 1161 sitting on it. No big deal to them. In the past we had AAA show up with a F250 to tow us and that was after haggling on the phone. I would recommend Good Sam without question!!LED BulbsI am on the hunt for LED bulbs, specifically 1141 and 1383 types. I do not want to rewire the fixtures but to use the bulbs in existing fixtures. I have been looking online and am somewhat frustrated. Has anyone out there found a great online source? Thanks in advance!!Death ValleyDoes anyone have a recommendation on entering Death Valley? From the west or east? Thanks in advance!Re: Best campgrounds in or around Redwoods NP?If you want or need to plug in, try Klamath River RV Park. Beautiful site, nice walk to the ocean, great group camp fire! Also Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City!!Re: Oven users unite!I use a Silpat "sheet" on top of a cookie sheet for all baking. Seems to distribute the heat evenly and any spills are easy to clean up. Also takes up very little space. These are available in different sizes too!Re: How to put kayak on top of TCWe are kayakers and ended up buying an Aire's Inflatable Tandem Kayak. We love it! Takes about 15 min and we are in the water paddling. I know you already have a kayak but if anyone is looking to buy and not willing to try and hoist one or two kayaks up 12 feet, there are options. We have a full back seat in our F550 and make room when we know we will be near water.Re: StorageThanks for all the great suggestions. I was looking to cover the back window as we tend to pile up and the wood crate is on the bottom....well, it is a topic we suggest whenever we run across other truck campers. Makes for a good conversation!StorageI am on the hunt for ideas for storing along the back window on the inside of the truck. We do not take the camper off the truck so this could be used often, as in my husband's lightweight golf bag or stand alone hammock. Possibly a gun rack to tie to with bungy cords? Has anyone been creative out there? Thanks in advance. PattyRe: TC travels, 2014 TR, Pg 904, 2015 TR pg 964Sleepy - such a clear message that you have sent, always good to be reminded! So glad to hear you two are back on the road in any form. And I especially like the note about seeking all that comes along on your travels! Patty & John Seaside
