I go in to have my second knee replacement next week. did the first one in November and continued to travel up and down the Washington, Oregon, California coast for the winter with no problems. will be staying at our home base in the Columbia River Gorge of Washington during recovery of this one. with stays in Gifford Pinchot national forest (after the snow melts). point is we can still enjoy travel even with health issues.Re: Highway 101 Closure Alertwe traveled from Newport to Brookings yesterday taking the detour around the slide area. other than going inland a couple hundred miles to I5 the only detour is Oregon hwy 255. we pull a 33 foot 5th wheel. 255 is a rough rout to take. steep, very tight corners, and a lot of road damage. it is doable, just take your time. 101 closure looks like it could be a long one. the slide is still moving and won't even start work until it stabilizes.weather reportdoes anyone know of an app that will give weather conditions along a rout that may take in several states without having to go to each states road report?Re: bad kneesthanks for all the great feedback. great info that is all very relevant. I am 68 and intend on a full time RV lifestyle for a long time yet I understand the importance of PT. I think a positive mental attitude is also very important and thats where getting out and about in the RV really helps. nothing better than fresh air and new scenery.bad kneeswell I finally had my total knee replacement Monday and am back in our 5th wheel Wednesday. we will spend 2 weeks recovering here in eastern wa and back to the coast for physical therapy for a few weeks. we were really hopping to be at warmer climates by now but had to deal with the VA healthcare's scheduling. it will all work out. we are snug and comfortable here and I think they did a great job on my knee. challenging getting in and out of the trailer but doable. fulltimers do not need to fear major health issues. they can be worked around.Re: cal. 299what might be better options. we will be going from the coast heading east. our actual trip is from Brookings OR to Death Valley.cal. 299how is Hwy 299 from Redding to Eureka pulling a 33 foot 5th wheel with a F250? we would be doing it around the first of March. thank you for any advice.Re: Windless entry doordoor works great hold open works great and we have lots of wind at home and no problem with the standard friction device that came on it keeping it openRe: Windless entry doormy Jayco came standard with it. works great
