weather report

does anyone know of an app that will give weather conditions along a rout that may take in several states without having to go to each states road report?

  • I like Weather Bug. It tracks your location, gives you weather radar maps and it notifies you of weather alerts in your area.
  • I don't know if they still have it but the weather channel had a map you could call up for interstate driving forcast.

I've never understood why nobody does that. It would be nice to get a warning that bad driving conditions were somewhere ahead along your route so you could either keep going and beat the weather or stay put and wait it out.
  • Thanks for the weather service link pualj. I will be using that one frequently. It is better than their other link that I have been using.
  • Google Maps is supposed to have a weather overlay, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. There are aviation apps that overlay weather - Skyvector is the one I use.
  • I have used a number of weather apps that have a "follow me" feature that can be enabled.
So if you're 150 miles from home it gives you the local weather there. Most can have multiple locations stored plus the follow me location.

I like that because I travel around a lot.
  • I use Weatherbug and can put different towns in and select which town I want to see the weather in. Not quite what you want but should work. Also has radar maps.

I only worry about the weather within a few hours of me, not several states away, it all changes and the weatherman is just guessing.
