We're going to miss it.Shotgun range position at NRA Whittington CenterThere is an opening for a motivated person interested in running the shotgun ranges at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM for summer 2023. Beautiful area, awesome weather, lots of wildlife, nice campground, and decent pay. This is a non-profit facility. I have been here off and on for 15 years, working and volunteering, and am currently the Shotgun Director. We have sold our RV and bought a house in Florida so we'd like to be finished here but I'd like to leave it in good hands. You can apply at www.nrawc.org or contact me and I can get you in touch with the right folks. Scott, sschnelle@nrawc.org 575-707-0339Volunteer work next summerMy name is Scott and I'm taking over the Shotgun Director position at the NRA Whittington Center near Raton, NM next summer. I will need at least 2 volunteers to help on the shotgun ranges. Work will vary but mostly it will be keeping the ranges clean, filling the clay target throwers, helping set targets for tournaments, and other things as needed. I can train as needed. It is sometimes a little strenuous but not terrible. You really need to be in decent condition withe the higher elevation. It will be 20 hours a week but possibly a little more during busy periods. You will get a full hookup site and free shooting on all ranges. If you've never been in northern New Mexico, it is absolutely beautiful and cooler in the summer. The elevation is about 6500ft. If you're interested or have questions, please contact me at shootinscotty@protonmail.com You can look at the facility at nrawc.orgRe: Need Lifestyle 5th wheel infoWe have a Lifestyle 37IK that's been on the road since 2014. WE wouldn't hesitate buying another one. Any issues that we've had have been with the non-Lifestyle stuff...Re: Full time with two vehicles? We've been fulltiming since 2005 and for the last few years we have 2 vehicles. Only because I have a tendency towards working at shooting ranges here and there. I really don't like her driving separate but she wants something to run around in while I'm working. Please don't be like some of the other folks and pull doubles. Not a good plan...Re: Norcold inside humidityWe certainly don't stand with the doors open and we full-time so it runs 24/7. The dollar bill thing worked fine until the seals gave up the ghost. The new doors are tight. Maybe we'll try an interior circulating fan. We had this same type fridge in our last 5er and never had these problems. When I clean the moisture out it takes about a day to build up again.Norcold inside humidityI have the 4 door Norcold fridge in a 2013 5er. Ever since we've had it the humidity inside has been really high with lots of water on the ceiling of the fridge. The doors were "adjusted" many times with no effect. We just had the doors all replaced due to the seals tearing. It's still wet inside. Ideas to try??Re: Snowbirds: Where to go in the summer?Northern NM is great in the summer...Eagle Nest...Trappers needed for a Sporting Clays rangeI am the Shotgun Sports Director for OK Corral Gun Club in Okeechobee, FL and I am in need of persons to help with tournaments and charity shoots. The time frame is from now through late March and past if you are available. This job is very part time and would be great for retirees, RV'ers, or someone that just wants a little cash or even just some free range time on a spectacular range that has Sporting Clays, 5-stand, rifle, pistol and cowboy action with trap and skeet coming in the near future. It would be one to 3 Saturdays/Sundays a month and possible Fridays. The only requirements are decent vision, ability to learn some of the basic Sporting Clays rules, and to be able to enforce basic safety rules. We will teach you what you need to know so no experience is needed but shooting experience will help. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact me for more details as I'm looking for help as early as next Saturday, 09/26/15. Scott D. We retired at 48 and hit the road fulltiming (6 years now). We figured if we got in a pinch we could always work for awhile. There is always volunteering along the way to help with expenses. We just wanted to see the country while we were young enough to really enjoy it!
