All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: generator/electrical problemTook the RV to a repair shop. They found a faulty ATS was tripping on the generator side. Replaced it and all's good now. Thanks for all the suggestions.Re: generator/electrical problemSorry for posting an not getting back in timely manner. Too much going on all over the place. The generator / AC tandem has worked in the past. Not sure what you mean by the ATS or ATF ( I assume either someone had a typo or the same thing has more than one name) As for "what do I mean everything resets", it's hard to say. Everything on the DC side seems fine at the time. The radio keeps playing. Lights stay on. Everything on the AC side shuts off. And if I watch the control panel, it only briefly goes dark, then starts up like I first turn on the generator. Sounds like my next step is to reproduce the problem and read the volts coming off the generator. It's a 5.5kW Onangenerator/electrical problemHaving an issue with what I assume is my generator. I can run the generator and normally don't have any issues. I can run electronics, the microwave works, etc. However, when I try to run the AC, something resets. The AC will actually start running for a couple seconds and blow cold air. But then everything resets. Not really sure what is happening. What I see is the electrical display panel - that shows I'm connected to 50amp service - will turn off and back on like I just plugged in. The generator never shuts down. I am only running 1 AC unit, and it doesn't matter which one I run. There are no issues when I'm on shore power. I can run both AC units without issue. I don't have a lot of expertise with generators. I know the oil level is good and the oil was recently changed.Charging batteries problemI'm not getting a charge to my batteries. I thought maybe the charger was shot, but when I tested it, I am getting 13.6V output. So that's not it. Coming off the charger is 2 red wires that each go through one of these (Amazon) - labeled "shortstop 12VT25 30A". I guess these are fuses. Coming off the fuse is 7.46V. I assume this means these are dead? If I'm barking up the wrong tree please let me know. I'm not familiar with these parts. Thanks.Re: Class A Diesel-Gray TankI leave it open. I also leave a trap in the hose before it goes into the camp drain to prevent gases from coming back. But I didn't have a real reason for doing it until I learned about the flies. Never thought of that, but makes for a good reason.Re: Not getting all my DISH HD channelsWell that was odd. Short story is all looks a lot better now. Went through the switch test with no cable plugged in. Saved, changed the dip switches, plugged the cable back in. Re-ran the test. It failed with nothing found. Very odd. Powered off the unit, then back in and ran the test again. It found one satellite, and showed an error message. Ran it one last time and now it looks like I have a lot of HD channels, including the one I was looking for.Re: Not getting all my DISH HD channels You are going to have to do a new Check Switch routine before the receiver can learn what settings you want it to use. Hopefully, you changed the dip switch settings so switches 4,7 and 8 were down and all others up. I highly recommend that you first clear your existing check switch by unplugging the incoming coax from your receiver and run a check switch. This will find nothing and clear your receiver memory. Now reconnect the coax and follow the exact instructions for doing a Check Switch. They must be followed in a very specific order and time frame to get the necessary results. If you don't have a manual, you can get the step-by-step instructions here: Winegard Check Switch Thanks for the link and the info. Dish support had walked me through this, but when I called back to follow up, did not get through to the right person, then was transferred to Winegaurd, which promptly connected me to VM/disconnect.Re: Not getting all my DISH HD channelsSorry for the delay getting back. I'm getting 110, 119, and 61.5. Turns out I had it set to hybrid originally, but changed it to the default and I'm getting the same 3 as before. Will check the manual again for setting for the eastern arc.Not getting all my DISH HD channelsI'm using the Winegaurd Roadtrip SDi in motion satellite dish. It keeps pulling in 61.5 as the third satellite. There seems to be a few HD channels not on this satellite, such as Big Ten Network. Anyone have any experience with this and how to get it to pull a different satellite? I'm in Eastern PA and I realize this is the low end of the coverage map for the 129 satellite. Not getting all my DISH HD channelsThis topic has been moved to another forum.
