Not getting all my DISH HD channels

I'm using the Winegaurd Roadtrip SDi in motion satellite dish. It keeps pulling in 61.5 as the third satellite. There seems to be a few HD channels not on this satellite, such as Big Ten Network.

Anyone have any experience with this and how to get it to pull a different satellite?
I'm in Eastern PA and I realize this is the low end of the coverage map for the 129 satellite.
  • Well that was odd. Short story is all looks a lot better now.
Went through the switch test with no cable plugged in. Saved, changed the dip switches, plugged the cable back in. Re-ran the test. It failed with nothing found. Very odd. Powered off the unit, then back in and ran the test again. It found one satellite, and showed an error message. Ran it one last time and now it looks like I have a lot of HD channels, including the one I was looking for.
  • You are going to have to do a new Check Switch routine before the receiver can learn what settings you want it to use. Hopefully, you changed the dip switch settings so switches 4,7 and 8 were down and all others up.
I highly recommend that you first clear your existing check switch by unplugging the incoming coax from your receiver and run a check switch. This will find nothing and clear your receiver memory. Now reconnect the coax and follow the exact instructions for doing a Check Switch. They must be followed in a very specific order and time frame to get the necessary results.
If you don't have a manual, you can get the step-by-step instructions here:

Thanks for the link and the info. Dish support had walked me through this, but when I called back to follow up, did not get through to the right person, then was transferred to Winegaurd, which promptly connected me to VM/disconnect.

Sorry for the delay getting back.
I'm getting 110, 119, and 61.5. Turns out I had it set to hybrid originally, but changed it to the default and I'm getting the same 3 as before.
Will check the manual again for setting for the eastern arc.

    Be careful on the roof.

  • The switches can be set to receive 110, 119, 129 Western, 110, 119, 61.5 Hybrid or 61.5, 72.7, 77 Eastern.
What 3 satellites are you showing on the Check Switch screen?
If you do change your antenna dip switch settings you will also need to perform a new Check Switch to allow the receiver to see the new satellite configuration.
  • After consulting the Winegard RoadTrip SDi Manual (which is really poorly written), it looks like you'll have to climb up on the roof, open up the RoadTrip dish, and set the internal DIP switches for DISH NETWORK EASTERN ARC (see page 9 of the manual).
