We are on our first trip in a Newmar Ventana LE and can't get any of the television channels to work. We have connected the cable connection to the RV but cannot get any cable channels. We also cannot get any channels from the antenna. The antenna channels were working when they did the initial walk through. There is a big Sony box in this unit for sound but I don't think that controls the tv channels. we have had several RV's before and I know how to do do channel scans for cable and antenna but it seems like there must be something preventing that from working.

Usually there is a 12 volt outlet where the TV is plugged into. By that area...there is a little switch you flip to change from "air over to cable". Little red light may be on where the switch or button is...and very hard to see it.Then do the channel scan on the TV set.

You might try scanning for channels again with signal boost button on (or off) if it is on now.

My coach also has a switching box located in the entertainment center that is used to switch to the various TV/Cable/satellite inputs. It has a power button that must be turned ON for any signal to get to the TV.

They are all different looking in each coach. Mine is hidden in a dark cabinet so you couldn't even see that there was a teenie tiny switch to turn on for the booster for the antenna. And the red light was just as tiny. :R

Thank you for posting the picture...so it seems it was the antenna switch I mentioned.

I understand your opinion for sure;; two reasons I suggested what I did is because the OP knew about scanning so one assumed he tried that on both sides and that's why I suggested wrong input: based on his reply and said booster was on then its rather obvious he never tried scanning (assuming he was in a area that would get a OTA channel
second off I have owned a few MH and have worked on plenty and have helped out many a person whom got into same trouble as OP but I have always found scan or no scan one will get the odd channel with out scanning so Ok agreed I wont make it a Blanket statement;; just always been my experience

AND

I have had the circuit board where the antenna attaches to go out also. Symptoms where no channels.

Had that happen on 2 of the TV's. i had them replaced at a TV repair shop.....yup you can repair a flat screen TV.

yes that's true but then again I always get a few channels on cable even when my boosters on just not clear and not many

Cable. I gather he has it working now

NOTE: THe connectors used on those cables are not my favorite. A good hard sneeze and off they come.. So that is another source of discomfort. I have had to replace a few.. I have the tools to do that right.

Their should be a bunch of information about you MH in the packet that comes with it. You may have a video control center, and it may not be in the proper setting for cable/OTA TV veiwing. If it worked during the "walk through" it should work now.

well based on the fact that they get no channels as in ZERO on both OTA and cable and have said they have done or at least said we know about it,(scanning) it wont have anything to do with the boost on or off because they would get channels on one side or the other ;; even without scan u will get usually one or two channels
in any situation same with boosts on you will get a couple or 3 channels trying to display on the cable side
