If we make these trips to Alaska there will be a generator either in the bed or the fifth wheeler. Plus a small freezer, smoker, extra propane, etc. We are still on the fence deciding if we want to buy the fifth wheeler in 23 or 24. But when/if we do there will be a dedicated dually for pulling it. If we buy a dually I'll decide how it is around town. We always have two or three other vehicles to use if we dont like using it. If it isn’t much of a hassle then I’ll sell my other truck.Re: Will I regret this truck? Thanks guys. Already talked to my Ford dealer and when the 2023 order bank is opened next week will submit the order. With luck will see the truck by April. Will I regret this truck? We have plans on buying a fifth wheeler in the 33-35 foot range. No need for anything bigger as there is just two of us and our trips would be limited to 3-4 a year. I do want to carry a generator in the bed of the truck or have one installed in the 5th wheeler. One trip a year will be a drive to Alaska and back in the summer months. During the Alaska trips the truck will be our daily driver for 6 weeks once we park the camper. When home I'll most likely drive the truck 500-800 miles a month. The truck I plan on ordering is a F350, crew cab, long bed, 4x4, single wheel, with the 6.7 diesel and 3:31 locking diff. My main concern is will I regret not getting a dually. If I must have a dually the plan to buy a 5th wheeler will probably be scrapped. Have zero interest in going with a gas motor no matter how much some people like them. I am not concerned about the additional fuel costs or increase in maintenance.Re: 2022 F350 on orderI would bet no one sees a 22 they ordered till at least July. Dealers might get a handful before then so potential customers can see what they look like.Re: Fuelly mileage of the big three dieselsAny chance we can get back to the topic and have owners report what mpg's they are getting in their diesel trucks? We all know the arguments for and against, now post some real time mpg's.2020 F450 ownersDo you think your truck sits any higher or lower (unloaded) compared to a F350 dually? What are your rpms (when not towing) at 70 mph? What is your highway mpg when not towing? ThanksRe: Need advise on which new truck - 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton?As far as entering the truck, if you stay with the higher trim options you can add "automatic" running boards. These will extend and retract when you open the doors. In my experience they will drop lower than the fixed style of running boards making it easier to enter. Its a lot cheaper to order the truck with these than to add them later. Usually costs about $1K as factory option or pay $1500 plus install after the fact. The ones from the factory will have a 3 year warranty as well.Re: 2020 F350 with 6.7 diesel ford truck guy wrote: Here is the info for my truck: 2020 F-350 SRW - 6.7 - 4x4 - Long Bed - 3.55 - Platinum - 48 gallon tank LOADED with - me - 240 - wife - 140 - B&W Hitch - 175 - all my camping/fishing/crabbing gear including a Clam tent - FULL Fuel - Full DEF Scale at 8680... ThanksRe: 2020 Ford F350 weightI dont own a F350. Plan on buying one soon to replace my gas F250 so we can haul a good sized 5th wheeler. Am on the fence between a F350 6.7 4x4 LB CC single or dual wheel set up.2020 Ford F350 weightAnyone here have a 2020 F350 diesel? I am trying to find out if the weights Ford posts for these trucks are accurate. Ford lists them as ranging from 5,878 to 7,737 lbs. If these trucks are heavier than what Ford posts then the payload will be affected.
