Anyway, yes, you have to have an internet connection in order to access the Shaw Direct website in order to activate the dish from your account. I bought 2- 800 receivers. 1 is a backup. If I can't get the signal anymore, I guess I'll have to go to direct on a tripod as a seasonal customer and use the address I'm at for the winter. Don't know if that will work? Anybody know anything about Star Link? Do they have Canadian TV? TobanRe: New HD 800 Shaw TV Receiver from CanadaYes, I was wondering if the new 800 receiver would identify your position to Shaw when you are trying to activate. The Internet connection I think is just for Shaw Direct on Demand purchases for movies etc so you don't need to turn on the internet connection. Apparently the receiver will ask you if you want this or not. I assumed it would be the same procedure in activation as the old 600. The quad LNB will work on the 800 as it stated this in the instructions on the Shaw Direct website. I always just called them from my Canadian cell number which is the primary contact number. Tell them I want to activate and within 5 minutes we have a picture and my programming. Hopefully it will be that simple with the new 800 receiver. I had the 600 for years but they told me as of the next spring which was 2023, it was being phased out. I'm in AZ on the east side of Phoenix. I have the 75CM dish and my signal strength is 97%. TobanNew HD 800 Shaw TV Receiver from CanadaWas wondering if this receiver will work in the USA this fall. When I read the instructions how to activate this new receiver there's a LNB check whatever that means and a check if you are locked on etc, then activate. Maybe this is part of making sure you are locked onto the satellite. But, someone said this past spring with this new receiver, they can tell where you are? If that's the case, we're all toast because you have to use this new receiver. Anyway, just wondered if anyone now has activated this new receiver in the USA to see if it works and did they have any trouble activating down there. Of course you don't tell them where you are unless they can tell now. Any comments on this? Toban2004 DSDP under the dash blower fan unitHas anyone replaced their under the dash Tempcon Evans fan unit? Ours every once in awhile will squeal and then stop when the speed of the fan is speeded up. Sometimes it doesn't do it for quite awhile. I think one would have to pull the dash apart to get at it to replace and was wondering if anyone has done this? Is it hard to do? TobanRe: Voyager rear camera doesn't work- sort of? Need help. The manufacturer now says to try the new harness that came with the new monitor which I will try. Has no one out there had a voyager monitor short out? I have had this motorhome since new in 2004 and this is my second monitor although the first one was a different brand. Newmar put in the voyager one that just quit on me and has affected the operation of the rear camera for some reason. TobanVoyager rear camera doesn't work- sort of? Need help.I have a 2004 DSDP. On the way home this past spring from AZ, my voyager AOM 711 rear TV monitor quit working. The screen was black and I could smell a metallic scent. It gets very hot behind the dash with the heat on through the vents plus the heat from the monitor itself so I think it just over time burned out. I pulled the monitor out and found the 5AMP fuse was blown too. I talked with ASA Electronics who make the monitor and they said over a period of time these monitors can wear out and short. I bought another monitor AOM 713 and put it in and replaced the 5 AMP fuse. They said the old harness should work. The monitor works but now I have no picture from the rear camera. I said sort of because you can see some but is a very poor picture. Basically, you can't make out anything. The manufacturer said to wire in the new harness in that came with the new monitor. I haven't done that yet but am going to do this shortly. Has anyone had trouble with the rear camera like this? I don't know how I can retrieve the cable through the back cap as it's siliconed in big time. Newmar told me there is a 3 ft cord from the rear camera and is plugged into the main cable that runs to the front monitor. Your input would be appreciated. TobanRe: Looking to try RGV next yearSorry, but we were in the RGV for 4 years and it was windy most of the time. Don't let anyone tell you it's an "oddity". We went out to AZ and it's way better than the RGV more to do and more to see. People have to see for themselves. TobanRe: Which Dicor Lap Sealant?Camping World in their wisedom discontinued Dicor for another "comparable product" they say is the same thing but much cheaper. Can't understand why they would do this other than they make more money on the new product and can sell it cheaper. Has anyone used this product and if so, does it work as well? TobanRe: IOTA Transfer switch seems to be stickingSince I was the original poster, I thought I'd pass on the message that I had replaced my IOTA transfer switch with a Progressive Dynamics 50 AMP switch and it works great now with the generator. The allen screw connectors were tightened well. Thanks for your help and answers. TobanRe: IOTA Transfer switch seems to be stickingYes, I have a 2004 DSDP but the transfer switch from the generator has not been used that much. I only have 130 hours on the transfer switch from the generator. The rest of the time I've been plugged in. The switch just started to stick now. Initially, it does not want to click right over to make a contact but does when I gently tap the top of the box. I then have tried it many times after by shutting down the generator and starting again and it switches over no problem many times tried after the initial start. The points haven't been used that much with that many hours on the generator. Toban
