All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: winterizing finalityI finally found a generic manual online and it states to turn on the water pump to pressurize the fresh water system, then... "with the system pressurized, press the check valve in the city water inlet until you see anti freeze flowing out, also open the lowpoint drains until you see anti-freeze flowing out" I'll try that in the morning and see if it works. Thanks everyone.winterizing finalityI have winterized the lines of my trailer, the toilet, inside shower, outside spray port, left anti freeze in the traps, toilet bowl, but I just read a blurb yesterday about putting anti freeze in the city water inlet valve. when I depress the button behind its filter screen, some water came out, but I can't figure out how to get a/f into it. Can I suck anti freeze into the inlet side of water pump and backflush line to city water inlet that way, or is there a check valve involved. Any advice would be appreciated as I'm running out of time with this very recently purchased trailer.Re: towing out WestThanks to all for the info. I did formerly have a 27 foot Wilderness, but after taking it through Missouri's rolling hlls, it seemed to work a bit more than I thought it would. I always suspected I had more trailer than I needed so I downsized and am very happy with the Aerolite. I have a tow/haul switch, but am appreciative of the advice to use the S shifter and tow/haul combination. Keep it in 4th on the grades with tow switch on. Thanks again to all.towing out WestI am planning on towing my 19 foot Aerolite travel trailer out West next summer with a 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7 with tow package. GVCR of the trailer is around 4700 lbs. I've been told I shouldn't have any problem, but I wasnt convinced by the people who told me that,so here I am on this forum hoping I can get some positive reinforcement. It tows just fine on small hills and such, but the Mountains have me somewhat concerned.Re: Power outage/partial power in ttI finally found a blown fuse in the converter (40 amp) but when I installed a new one, it too, blew. I guess this is one of my learning experiences. Will have to tow it to a service dealer. Thanks for all the input from everyone.Re: Power outage/partial power in ttO.K. now I'm really confused. I disconnected the battery from the tt and put it on charge for an hour. Hooked it back up and now the lights and fans, and it appears everything is on (can't check the A/C unit because I don't have a 30 amp supply) but why does the battery have to be charged for any lights etc to work, even though I'm plugged into a 20 amp power source? And why is the battery not charging up on that 20 amp power supply? It always used to. It is a 1 month old deep cycle rv battery. Could the converter be damaged in some way from a power surge or something?Re: Power outage/partial power in ttRechecked everything. Lights are not working anywhere. 10v outlets work at least for a night lite I tried in each one--all work. 12v battery is completely dead, shows nothing on the meter I have. I checked and reset bath GFCI and retripped breakers using the sugested light pressure towards off. Checked all the fuses in box and all look good. Microwave shows power and actually turns on, but it s alone in that regard.Power outage/partial power in ttLast week a thunderstorm blew through my area. I had a 20 amp power cord hooked up to my tt just to keep the battery up. Lots of lightning and rain. I just checked out my trailer and I only have power to the microwave oven--everything else is dead. No lights, no gas emission monitor, nothing. I reset the breakers to no avail. Checked the power cord source was ok. Could my inverter be bad?Re: traveling in a ttThanks to all for some well needed advice. Now I can suck it up and start mapping a route.use of sway barsI am relatively new at rving and am preparing my first long trip. Have a Tundra 5.7 with towing pkg. TT is a 27' Wilderness @ 7200 lbs gvwr. Using a wd Kurt hitch. It seems to tow fine, but I've read that use of sway bars would enhance safety. Could someone explain the use of sway bars and recommend a compatible brand?
