winterizing finality

I have winterized the lines of my trailer, the toilet, inside shower, outside spray port, left anti freeze in the traps, toilet bowl, but I just read a blurb yesterday about putting anti freeze in the city water inlet valve. when I depress the button behind its filter screen, some water came out, but I can't figure out how to get a/f into it. Can I suck anti freeze into the inlet side of water pump and backflush line to city water inlet that way, or is there a check valve involved. Any advice would be appreciated as I'm running out of time with this very recently purchased trailer.

    I just blow some air into that connection and put pink stuff everywhere else. CW has a fitting that screws into the connection with an inlet suitable for a compressor. Actually, a tire pump might work also.

    Do you have the manual, and if so, did it recommend adding af to the city water inlet? I've never done this to my previous mh nor my current tt and never had a problem. Might be overkill.

    I would have guessed that the low point drains would have removed any water from that location.

    I have never addressed this either. Never thought of it
    and never a problem. You most likely are fine.

    I finally found a generic manual online and it states to turn on the water pump to pressurize the fresh water system, then... "with the system pressurized, press the check valve in the city water inlet until you see anti freeze flowing out, also open the lowpoint drains until you see anti-freeze flowing out" I'll try that in the morning and see if it works. Thanks everyone.

    Since I winterize using my water pump it is really a no brainer. When I press the little button I try to remember to stand clear as it will not dribble, it will spurt and usually the back end of the spurt is AF.

    I found it on eBay for $4.95 plus $3.95 shipping. They have other listings for this item at different prices. It shipped quick, and I had it in about 2 days.

    We have a jump box with a compressor. Just hooked it up and evacuated the water out of the lines. GREAT little gizmo to have on hand!

    Exercise caution pushing the valve in, often it causes it to break-cheap plastic item.

    That's twice what I paid for mine,also brass fitting. I paid $3.99 at a local RV supply shop.
