Laguna Seca Recreation Area is OK, 16% grade on main road for the first half mile, no sewer hookups and about 8 miles to Monterey on Hwy 68.Re: 5th wheel tiresTwo years after purchasing my Jayco Eagle FW, I up sized the wheels from 15 - 16" to run Light truck tires. I ran BFGoodrich Commercial TA's, load range E for the past eight years. Had a blow out in September and purchased a new set of Goodyear Endurance trailer tires. I have put 6,000 miles on the new tires and have not had any issues. I believe the tire failure was due to leaking metal valve stems and extremely hot weather. Happy with both of my tire selections to date and agree to stay away from the cheap china tires if at all possible, if it's within your budget.Re: Rig is unlevel with truckI towed my fw nose high for 8 years with my 07 dodge without issues. Just blocked the tires to level at the campsite. I was probably 1/4 bubble off a well. I purchased a 2018 Ram 2500 and had to raise my fw. I moved the springs form under the axle to the top. I was riding 30" front and 18 rear" until the trailer lift. Now it rides level.Re: I-5 to Hwy 101 via CA 299Thanks for the heads up guys. Headed to Washington along the coast. I have crossed on OR 199 to Crescent City before and just wanted to check out a new route and check out the redwoods. We have plenty of time as we are bring the grand kids back home and wanted to avoid the I-5 route all the way up.I-5 to Hwy 101 via CA 299This topic has been moved to another forum. I will be pulling a 32' fifth-wheel with my 2018 RAM 2500 and was wondering how the road conditions are for trailers. Thanks, RichardRe: Superglide 4100 in 2018 Ram 2500 MegacabThanks for the input everyone. I pretty set on the automatic slider. Never had any issues with my superglide in my 07 short bed. I know that I will need to purchase the puck adapter regardless of witch ISR automatic pulrite I decide to go with.Superglide 4100 in 2018 Ram 2500 MegacabHello everyone, Just traded in my 2007 Dodge 2500 Megacab for a 2018 Ram 2500 Megacab and need to think about fifthwheel hitch installation. Anyone install a Superglide 4100 in a 2018 Ram Megacab using the Ram factory fifthwheel mounts? I e-mailed Pulrite and I was told that if I were to reuse my 4100 out of my 2007 Megacab, I would need to purchase the Ram mount adapter as well as the Pulrite adapter. Both adapters will raise my fifthwheel hitch about 5". The 2018 Ram is also 3" higher than my 2007 and I am concerned that I might be too nose high, requiring raising the trailer springs on top of the axles. My fifthwheel is a Jayco Eagle Superlite 30.5 RL. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.Re: Do you use your bathroom? If not, what do you use it for?We use all of the facilities in our fifthwheel. Our home on wheels. When my friend and his wife hit the road, they will use the RV Park faclities if available.Re: torn rv coversI am on my third cover for my 30' fifthwheel. I use pool noddles on the sides of the rear ladder to prevent rubbing, on the rear corner I made a cardboard cover for the corner (reinforced with duct tape) and dropped a sand bag on top. Same with the Digital TV antenna. I also use sand bags to protect the edges of the rubber roof from the cover rubbing during windy days and the front cap, corners. You can use plastic grocery bags filled with sand. Need to replace the bag each season as they will fall apart. This has worked for me and it only takes a few minutes to put out before unrolling the cover. I keep my cover on the garage roof with all of the bags. Parked 4" away form the eve of the roof and it's easier than hauling it up a ladder. Good luck.
