I found the over temp limit switch had opened up and was not allowing the burner to light. Replaced the limit switch and all seems ok. But I noticed while buttoning up the covers around the furnace which is mounted in the belly compartment the outside metal cover where the flexible ductwork is connected seems very hot to the touch. I assume its normal but thought I would ask as I have never monitored how hot the furnace shell gets while the furnace is operating. The blower wheel appears to be spinning and pushing air through the furnace normally.Re: Suggestions Cleveland,Oh to BostonThanks for the quick reply. We plan on spending the night at the dealer to check out everything then heading back. Will probably just stop at Wally world or truck stop to catch a few hours sleep somewhere in NY. One other question, whats the deal w/the Indian reservations and fuel stops in NY along the interstates? Appears to have considerably cheaper fuel prices since there is no Fed tax. DonSuggestions Cleveland,Oh to BostonLooking at picking up our Class A in a few weeks. Hoping for good weather and thoughts on taking I 90 or I86/I88? Thx, DonRe: Firestone 22.5 tires for RVPut a set of Firestone on our pusher in 2012. Slight amount of tire whine at low speeds but not objectionable. I thought it was a good compromise between the less expensive Chinese imports and the expensive Michelin's.Re: Haldex Air Dryer stuck openUpdate, I removed the purge valve and cleaned the body and applied grease to the o rings and connected the air dryer back into the system and seems to working normally. I've changed the filter a couple of years ago, but suppose its time rebuild or replace. Thanks to those who responded. DonHaldex Air Dryer stuck openSo it finally happened......... Got stranded on the road. Just left for first trip out for the season. Air pressure came up normally could hear pressure release normally while hooking up toad. But a few miles down the road noticed both air pres gauges losing air. Pulled off road and heard a constant whistling noise from bottom output of air dryer. Called Freightliner and they believed the "turbo valve" was sticking in the dryer. I disconnected fittings and was able to bypass the air dryer w/a 1/2" female coupling. Back on the road and pressure is normal but annoying bleed off sound coming from tanks which I assume is the pressure relief valve since dryer is regulating pressure. Looking for suggestions as to replace or rebuild?Re: DesulfatingWhat about disconnecting the chassis batteries? I have 4 6v house batteries, and 2 12v starting batteries. I believe they charge together thru the converter. I assume the chassis batteries need to be equalized also? The salesman switch will disconnect the house electronics, but what about chassis circuits such as the engine computer, transmission computer, etc that are part of the chassis?Re: Ready Brake Install Failure = 2K in Costs and Counting!I'm using the Blue Ox mechanical surge towbar and so far it has worked well once I added a small vacuum pump to provide vac assist for the cable. I added a "brake light applied" indicator on the MH dash. Its activated from the toad brake switch which is already in the car. It allows me to know that the brakes are applying when stopping, and they are not sticking.Re: Adding rear rock guardWe use a homemade version of the protect a tow and it has worked well for our last 2 motorhomes. I tend to agree the rear mud flap on pushers create more of a problem w/kicking up debris from the road. The only stone chip we had on our last toad occurred when the wife was driving it during the winter months.Re: Roadside Assistance - VASFrom the FMCA website, http://www.fmca.com/benefits/fmca-roadassist.html
