I am not trying to high-jack the original post so please excuse me. I always thought the the air dryer was a piece of equipment that could be removed and rebuilt. Approx. 1 1/2 year ago I had my air dryer serviced and the air dryer was a large canister very similar to an oil filter only larger in diameter. The mechanic bled all the air from the system and unscrewed the old one and installed the new unit. I have the old unit in the garage. The price of the new air dryer was approx. $240.00. I would think that next time I could change it myself. The mechanic said the key is to purge the air system well. Yep you can do it, just purge all the air out of the system. Mine had three lines and 4 bolts. Rebuild it and replace.Re: Air dryer purge every 40 secondsYep, replaced the valve inside the airdryer, works perfectly.Re: Air dryer purge every 40 secondsFound the turbo valve busted inside the air drier. Only 6 mo old. Re: Air dryer purge every 40 secondsWell after the deed I described, the air sound was not coming from the compressor or unloader diaphram. I found it using a mechanics stethoscope, it was coming from the air dryer I rebuilt in January. I will keep ya posted on my results.Re: Air dryer purge every 40 seconds MountainAir05 wrote: If your system had a weak unloader, you can check it out pretty easy by appling shop air to the RV while it is not running so the governor is in cutout mode and is allowing air to the unloaders. If they are leaking you can usually hear or feel it blowing back out the intake of the compressor. Doug might drop by in a few and correct us all. I applied 130 to the system, the purge would not stop till I lowered the pressure lower than 95. after it purged I could barely hear a leak close to the compressor. I'm sure all the lines are leak free.Re: Air dryer purge every 40 seconds MountainAir05 wrote: If your system had a weak unloader, you can check it out pretty easy by appling shop air to the RV while it is not running so the governor is in cutout mode and is allowing air to the unloaders. So air up the rv till it unloads the compressor while the engine is off ?Re: Air dryer purge every 40 seconds eHoefler wrote: Most likely the pressure relief valve popping off, the regulator on the compressor is bad replacedRe: Air dryer purge every 40 seconds JRscooby wrote: First thing I would do is open the valves, make sure there is no water in tanks. done that no waterAir dryer purge every 40 secondsHas anyone had this problem? I've check for air leaks on the line to the reserve tank and the line to the air drier all from the governor. A new governor, rebuilt air drier replaced air line from compressor to the air dryer. I think I have it narrowed down to the air dryer needs rebuilt again as last year I rebuilt it and fixed this problem. Is this a very big deal?Re: Replacing 1999 rear camera with newer tech and color dougrainer wrote: Odds are you have the small Clarion system? To use the existing cable that runs from front to rear depends on how many wires on in that cable. I seem to remember, just 4. So, you need to make sure that the replacement system has NO MORE than those 4 wires. You will find various options and one option may be the newer Wireless systems. The Furrion system can be just a rear Camera or spend $1000 and get the side View cameras also. To POWER the rear Camera, you just connect to the upper Clearance lights OR use the existing OLD Camera Cable and utilize 2 of those wires for Power and Ground. Doug https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Camera-System/Furrion/FOS43TASF.html Yes, I have a clarion. I don't want to go the wireless route. Wired is more reliable.
