No wifi needed. Thinking about building a smaller PC for use in MH (when I get the MH).Re: Life lesson - In case you're not awaremy credit union (not bank!) called my cell phone after I made a large purchase 1000 miles from home a few years ago. just wanted to confirm that it was me using the card. i like the NASA federal credit union.Re: Should I attend Hershey or Timoniam RV Shows for C Classi have been to Timonium show before but was thinking of seeing Hershey show for first time. In market for same "C" as you are.Re: New to RV'n, used class Cs, need some kind adviceWill, I also live near Wash DC. I am interested in same class C that you are. I ran across same DC craigslist ad you found but have not contacted seller. And i am brand new to this forum and RVs. I agree with others that water damage is a real deal breaker. Would you consider going in 50:50 on a used "C"? Just floating an idea, that is all. Good luck in any case. KevinRe: Proper use of OverDrive othertonka wrote: Overdrive in the city probably will not even activate at slow city speeds so I would say his statement to not use overdrive in the city is not a valid statement. Overdrive is like having a 5th gear added to your already 4 speed transmission. It won't even shift into Overdrive until you reach a speed of 50 to 60 MPH. Do you drive 50 or 60 in the city? So just leave it ON. Now for Highway driving I would use it except for mountain driving, then turn it off. In mountains your Transmission could "HUNT" , shifting back and forth, in and out of OD and in and out of HI, thus building unwanted heat in the tranny while you are climbing. Now going down hill you turn OD OFF and downshift the tranny to use the engine compression to hold you back, thus saving your brakes. this is my understanding of how OD is to be used. kevinRe: used "C": how old is too old? Thanks for all the replies. I would certainly operate every system on any used C I think about buying. No one in my family has ever owned an RV , so I have no experience using/repairing the various systems. I'd also ask for maintenance records. I've had good luck buying used cars, trucks, boats, trailers, and houses before so I think I can buy a used RV and not get burned. I think. I like the Winnie Minnie models and see them on the road a lot. My general preference is 8-12 year old Ford E350 or E450, 28 foot, rear walk around queen bed. Yes, I know there are lots of makes/models fitting this broad description. Do you have or know of one for sale? Let's talk!used "C": how old is too old? All, Thinking (dreaming) of buying our first RV. Not looking at new models... they depreciate too quickly. I see 10-12 year old used models priced from $12- $20K and 4-6 yr old units priced from $30K and up. I'm somewhat handy and can fix things. How long do the major appliances (water heater, fridge, furnace, A/C units, propane systems, water pumps , battery charger, inverter, etc) last? Is it a mistake to consider a 12+ yr old "C" for $10000 or so? Thanks.Re: Experienced RVing Dog Owner Question.. PLEASEwhat company allows you to bring a dog in a rental class C? We have three dogs and want to rent a C before buying one. Thanks. Kevin
