I have not posted before but have been a regular reader of this story. The four puppies addition has been lots of fun to read. I can't wait to meet Old Fella. Please feel free to also introduce yourself on the offical Rally thread. Oh, and I guess I can assume that you'll be coming to the one in Rutherfordton?:BRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Dixie Flyer wrote: The title "Colonel" was synonymous with the Old South. Colonel was a term used with any Southern gentleman that held prestige in a community. Old Fella fits the mold to a tee. If ever there was a "Southern Gentleman" it is Old Fella. Knocked down, tattered, worn, but not given in to the hardships of life he has managed to signify the image of an old southern gentleman that has still got a lot of life and wisdom to give. Yep Old Fella is a symbol of Southern heritage, tough to the core with a heart that is pure tenderness when it comes to knowing how to love and respect those to whom he owes homage. Sue thinks he is a yankee dog but I beg to differ. No dog can howl the way he does and not belong to the deep south. I had to stand up and salute. :BRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}CockerDodger you said it all. Really met some great folks from so many different states that I hope to see again somewhere in our travels. Hated leaving so early Sunday Morning, but needed to be home for work, and I hope I didn't wake you and Linda up at 4 when we pulled out. I also want to apologize to Teddi & Mark on the other side also for the early departure. Looking forward to next year, I'll try to make the Rally wherever it is. Well, I've got to get out today and unload the TT. I pray everyone have safe trips home. Chuck I'll drop you a pm in a couple days to see where you guys are at. Old Fella Rally -- agility trainingRe: Pet Pictures - READ MY STARTING POST B/4 POSTING Here's our little pride and joy -- Bilbo Baggins Smith. And trust me, he is NO angel.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Well, first off -- it's not just Old Fella that's captured our hearts -- it's Richard and Sue, and their undying dedication to give Old Fella the kind of home, and more importantly, love, he was without for so long. In some ways, we live vicariously through them -- all the ups and downs, good times and bad. They cry, we cry. They rejoice, we sing along with them. My husband, Brian, and I were relatively new to this site when we first read of Old Fella's plight. And let me tell ya....there wasn't enough Kleenex to stop the tears. And most of the tears were of joy -- the best kind. When we heard about the rally in Branson, we didn't have to discuss it long before we knew we wanted to make it our first. So many animals are destroyed each year, or worse yet, neglected and unloved. Old Fella's story reminds us of that -- and it is our intent that if we ever get another animal, it would only come from a shelter -- not a breeder. Old Fella, even though he doesn't know it, has saved lives.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story} Dixie Flyer wrote: Thanks to some kind hearted folks Old Fella now has his exercise pool. I will set it up this afternoon. What a surprise!! Thanks to the folks in Texas. We want pictures showing Old Fella with his sunglasses on!:CRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Richard: Incontinence could be the sign of some major trouble brewing (Cushing's, kidney problems, diabetes). I think the best solution is for your daughter to take her to vet for some blood work. I had a shih-tzu that did almost the same thing, and he was eventually diagnosed with Cushing's. DonnaRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Hang in there, Ol' Fella. I'm offering up prayers for you and Richard even as I type. Please keep us posted on his progress!!!!
