We use the signal meter on the receiver to tune the satellite signal not some high dollar hand held meter.Re: Rv satellite use for homeWe have DTV at home. We bought a tripod, oval DTV satellite dish with a SWM/LNB and take our receiver with us. Set up the tripod once we arrive at our destination, point the dish using the signal meter and boom HD TV on the go. Takes about 15 minutes. That receiver has no idea it is away from home once it gets the signal. in fact we get locals up to about 250 miles away but after that we use the crank up antenna for the locals. Now we have no one left at home so no big deal about having DTV at home when we are gone. Easy Peasy........Re: Cool down time for a Norwood? We start ours about 24 hours before we intend on leaving. Use the Propane as it cools better (at least in our case it does) and is a lot more consistent. We usually can start stocking the freezer within 5-6 hours with frozen items and then the fridge 6-10 hours. Always try to put frozen items in the freezer as this will help it cool down faster. Once ours gets cold we can consistently keep the freezer at 0 to 10 and the fridge at 35-40 with no issues. We do keep it on propane while camping even if plugged in.Re: Cleaning the underside of the awningWe bought our Class A RV used last fall, i imagine the previous owners did not clean it regularly. So I just did mine using a 1 gallon sprayer using the following - 1.5 parts simple green 1.5 parts white vinegar fill with water. Spray on both sides use a lite brush action to work it in. Roll it up for 15-30 minutes open it back up and rinse. Repeat if you have heavy spots. Mine is 8 years old and had some ugly stains but they are all gone now and it looks like new. good luck and yes you will get wet.Re: Small; vacuum cleaner ?We bought a Shark Rocket Corded Handheld Vacuum for around $90.00, works great. We bought a small duffle bag so all the accessories would fit in it and this fits nicely in our storage area above the bed.Re: Workhorse Wheelmaster lug nutsI got my 33MM (1/2" Drive)at AutoZone for about $15.00. It was an impact socket so if needed you can use a it as such. Good Luck!Re: Workhorse Wheelmaster lug nutsWe bought our used MH in October and found that the wheel cover nut removal tool (T-Handle) was missing. The chrome covered nut holding on the simulators worked out to be a 1 9/16" (44mm) socket. Unfortunately the previous owner or tire shop decided impacting this nut on was a good idea. So I purchased a cheap socket (not so cheap for that size) to get them off along with the 33mm impact socket for the lug nuts.Re: Newbie to Class A RVingThank you for everyone who responded. Yes we have metal valve stems, I requested that when they put on the new tires. I put on the extenders yesterday afternoon. Got them good and tight and just re-checked the air pressure and with almost 24 hours I have zero air loss. Will be taking it for a quick road trip Saturday and see how they work out. I had heard they can work loose while driving. I was advised by the tire store to add a little Loctite blue to the thread to help stop the extender from loosening up. Again thank you for all the comments, I do appreciate it. JohnNewbie to Class A RVingAs this is my first post I apologize for any errors I make up front. My wife and I have been camping off and on throughout the years. We decided in October to purchase a used 34' 2007 Winnebago Voyage with 24,100 miles on it. So far we are pleased with what we bought and knew getting into it we needed to spend some money to make ours. First major purchase, new tires. That Michelin Man is proud of his tires. The original tires were DOT dated 2106 and looked like they have never seen shade or tire covers. The tire tech was surprised one had not blown yet. So as this is my first post I do have a question for anyone who has an answer. Valve stem extensions.....what are your thoughts for the rear duels? We have steal rims with simulators and both the outside and inside tire valve stems are hard to get at. I had the tire store put new valve stems in, no not rubber ones but steel. I hear lots of rumblings about valve extenders leaking and other horror stories. thoughts?
