Hope all is well with you and family.Re: A $ question for class A in MichiganWe had a 2011 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 43 ft DP, plate cost is based on MSRP depreciated for I think 5 years then holds steady (again I think this is correct). Anyway, in 2018 the cost for our plate on the 2011 was over $1,000. Transferred that plate to our new to us 2017 Entegra Aspire and will find out this June how much the new coach will be. It is very expensive for plates in Michigan but you can deduct on fed taxes.Re: Novi MI. MARVAC RV showThe fall show had lots more high end class A's. Buddy of mine sells for General RV and he said fall show is to catch the snowbirds befor they head out and has higher end stuff. Winter show is more for those who had to stick around and work and are looking for next summer's rig so more trailers and fifth wheels.open source alternative to MS OfficeJust got new laptop and previously wife's work IT folks loaded MS Office to our home computer. They can't do that this time (new owners) and so I am looking for suggestions on alternative to paying full boat for MS Office. We have files for Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher. What do you suggest for alternative. Thanks in advance,Re: Cummins EngineCall holiday Rambler and they can give you the data sheet on the coach based on the VIN, will have all the original equipment model #'s and S/N'sPrivate purchase in Texas - need title for MichiganWe just purchased a new to us 2017 Entegra Aspire in Texas from a private party. All went well and we brought the unit home to Michigan on the Texas plates with our own insurance on the unit. Previous owner has received a release of lien letter from BOA and they say in the letter that they have released the lien electronically and that previous owner will receive a paper title in 4 to 6 weeks. Michigan Secretary of State office says we need the paper title from Texas to title in Michigan (maybe even to transfer my plates from our previous motor home). My question is this typical to take 4-6 weeks to get the paper title or is there a way to expedite getting the Texas title. For instance, can the previous owner take the release of lien letter to Texas DMV and get a title sooner?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.Route Guidance - Longview Texas to MichiganWill be picking up a new to us coach in Longview Texas hopefully the end of next week (7/19 or 20). Plan to drive back via 30 to Litlle Rock 40 to Memphis then 55 to 57 pick up 70 to 69 in Indiana 69 home to Mi Any reason not to go that way? I have never been south of St Louis in that direction so looking for your input ThanksRe: Flat tow a 2017 Buick Enclave AWDWe tow a 2017 Enclave with no issues. Two of the fuses are in the battery compartment under the pass seat - wired a switch in line for each of them. For the 50 amp fuse underhood, I got a Tall 50 amp fuse and replaced the stock one. That way I can just pop off the cover for the fuses and pop out the tall 50 amp fuse. Works fine for me and car tows like a dream. We don't generally go long distances so I just run it before I hook up to go and run it when I unhook at the campground.Re: RIP - JohnnyTHave been off the forum on VAC for a week or so and just saw this note, so sorry to hear about Johnny T. Met him at a rally in Elkhart in 2003 with Bagman, had a great time and became great forum friends. Saw him at a couple Frnkenmuth rallies here in Michigan and always had a good time with him and Becky. Prayers go out to Becky and family - he will be greatly missed!!Re: Transmission circulation on 4 wheels downSome "modern automatics" that are flat towable do not rely on the internal pump to lubricate the moving parts while being towed. For example , the GM six speeds that are flat towable have "slingers" on the axle shafts which spray or "sling" the oil either directly on the moving parts or on to stamped metal trays which direct the oil to the needed area. The motion of the axle shaft is all that is needed to provide the lubrication.
