Ready for my memorial weekend trip up to northern idaho and montana!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. Its funny you mention the fuel leaking down into the crank issue! I had my kipor 1000W inverter do this twice recently... My dad thought it was dirt or something preventing the needle from completely stopping the flow of fuel, the generator was also surging so that also seemed to point to a needle sealing issue. We took it apart, blew it all out and then noticed that there was lots of******in the gas tank. We washed it out, then installed a lawn mower fuel filter and shut off valve inline from the fuel pump to the carb. Guess what, no more surging and no more crank full of gas!! She runs like a top now!Re: Class C Campsite Photos. Show your stuff.Easter weekend camping trip to arrowrock reserviour in Idaho, very cold! Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. Here is a cheap door lock actuator that may work? cheap actuator Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. TKMJ wrote: I shot the laser point thru the vents hitting the AVR directly to get that reading.Ken Be careful Ken, an infrared thermometer does not use the laser dot to measure temperature! It uses a cone of measurement that expands based on your thermometers distance to spot ratio! Everything inside the circle of measurement is averaged into the temp displayed... For example, if you have a 1:1 ratio IR thermometer and you are 5 inches away from your target, you will have roughly a 5" diameter circle of measurement! So even though your laser pointer is on the AVR your actually measuring the average of that 5" circle (which may be the shroud in this case which would greatly drop the temperature reading. Treat the laser as a targeting aid which shows you the center of the measurement circle!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Amazing work! Great Job professor! I have some fun ideas and will try to some similar pics when I am done...Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Since your KHW meter takes power factor into account, you probably wouldn't recover your investment.. Some power companies have power factor penalties for larger customers (usually industrial facilities which have many large motors) and these companies will usually have a controller which can switch in large power factor correction capacitors to avoid these penalties...Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.Don't forget that P=IE only works in a DC system or in AC system with a power factor of 1. With AC power, you have inductive or capacitive loads which shift the phase angle between voltage and current... Anyone remember "ELI the ICE man"? Current Leads the voltage in an inductive load. Voltage leads the current in a capacitive load. That brings back memories!Re: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info. Here is a fan I may try out (maybe one on each end of the box? http://www.mpja.com/prodinfo.asp?number=16809+FNRe: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.An option for the avr fan would be an inline duct fan, you could pick a cheap one up at home depot and they push quite a bit of air...
