Since your KHW meter takes power factor into account, you probably wouldn't recover your investment.. Some power companies have power factor penalties for larger customers (usually industrial facilities which have many large motors) and these companies will usually have a controller which can switch in large power factor correction capacitors to avoid these penalties...
