Frank. ???????????????Re: Broken Bow OK CampingI usually go up SH 37 to near Idabel then take the 70 bypass north at the 4 way stop sign. This will take you around to Hwy 70 north to Broken Bow. Not sure where it would be best for you to hit 37. Don't know if your taking I-30 east or going up through Paris. If I-30, you will hit SH 37 at Mt Vernon. BTW, no need to stop at the office when you enter the park. Probably no room to park anyway if you have a large rig. You can continue right on around to the camp loop. The reservable will be the first loop you come to. First come first served is beyond the reservable section past the tennis courts. Good luck and have fun! Also, when you pass the park office, there will be a 3-way stop adjacent to the office. Continue on straight to get to your area of the park. If you turn left, you will miss the RV loops. Come to think of it, there may be a few RV camp spots in the other section of park, but really not sure. Its been a while. Sorry.Re: Broken Bow OK CampingOnly a small section of BB is reservable. It is a loop next to the river that flows out of the lake. You may or may not get a site next to water. The best sites are non reservable and are first come first served and people go to great pains to "save" the primo sites next to water. They will get there a few days early and pitch an empty tent on a nice site next door that is never used other than to hold the site for a buddy. Shouldnt be allowed IMHO. I have driven through Hochatown and it is a nice park. Can't remember if there are water side sites. Seems like there may be a few in spots, but can't be certain. Again, I think first come first served there as well. I love Beavers Bend and have been going there for years.Re: Texas Inspection now requiredThe inspection for trailers in Texas is not new. I had to get my trailer inspected when it was new in 2011 and have done so every year. Also, weights under 4500# do not require inspection as you state. I did have to show my tow vehicle proof of insurance. The tech also drove the truck and trailer down the road. He was gone for about 10 minutes. I was beginning to think it was a scam LOL.Re: Galveston TX area parksScott, the name of the park Bumpy writes about is called Bayou Shores. Its an OK park. Have been there once. The restaurant is good and has live music at times. Not on the gulf or by beaches. It is on Offats Bayou. Go to rvparkreviews.com to read other folks reviews.Re: Dellanera ParkHmm, here a pic of our most recent stay at Dellenera. I have always liked the park. They should not charge you for someone dropping by to pick you up. I would have never asked in the first place. I would ask about longer term parking, though. I think they only charge for parking if a vehicle has to be parked in one of their overflow parking areas assuming other parking rules are being followed. Re: Dallas area campgroundsCity of Lewisville's Lake Park on the west shore of Lake Lewisville. Its OK. Nothing special, but convenenient to lots of stuff. A little out of Dallas, though. Its also close to Hickory Creek COE as noted above. Hickory Creek has a very nice state park like feel. You feel isolated from the big city but are somewhat close to NW Dallas area as well as Denton and Lewisville.Re: Galveston TX area parksDellenera is nice. Right on the beach at the west end of the seawall. Sandpiper is very nice and a bit pricey. Right on the east end of the seawall. There is a park on Offats Bayou in town. Don't remember the name. It has some fulltimers in it. Decent but nothing special. Galveston Island State Park about 6 miles out. Haven't been there since the hurricane and then Jamaica Beach RV park just past GISP. Have never been but heard its nice. That's about it for the immediate Galveston areaRe: Dang it! Help please!!!!Also Marine TeX. Excellent stuff for fiberglass. Easy to use and sandable.Re: Travel Report - Clinton Presidential Library and Museum RussOnTheRoad wrote: wbrown62 wrote: Dick_B wrote: We also visited the Library a few months ago and rode the bike path that runs right next to it. You didn't happen to ride the Big Dam Bridge bike ride, did you? No. I camped quite some distance from there with no way to get my bicycle to the bike path. I rode my motorcycle to the foot of the bridge and walked up. Why do you ask? Oh, I was asking Dick B. Several months ago, there was a big bike ride in Little Rock. My wife and I wanted to go, but were unable. I u derstand there is an RV park across the river from the library.
