I'm looking for suggestions on propane usage while there. There aren't any propane people that will come to your coach. Renting a larger bottle from them requires a 3 year contract. The CG says that everyone breaks down and drives to the propane supplier. I'm trying to avoid that hassle. One option is to buy a 30 or 40 LB bottle and tie it in. There's not enough room to install an "Extend-a-stay". We can use electric inside the coach but I worry about keeping the basement warm enough to keep the pipes from freezing.Campground suggestions near Asheville, NC.Don't need a lot of amenities just a nice clean park with level sites.Re: Rock protection for toad. Really, if you have the rest of your life, drive 50 miles, find a campground and stop. Stay a week and then move another 50 miles. From Ohio, I think I'd head toward the New England area, then come down the Eastern Sea Board, work my way down to Southern Florida (Atlantic Ocean side), and then come back north on the Gulf side. Follow the Appalachian Mountains back North and head over toward Michigan, come around upper Michigan and then turn South again following the Mississippi. Once you hit the Gulf of Mexico again, head west a couple hundred miles and head North again. Head toward Montana then cut over toward Washington State and turn South via California. Go South to Mexico. This should take you about 5 or 6 years. Go North during the Summer, go South during the winter and keep zig-zagging across the country. Time is no limit. LOL..... Sounds like fun but I don't think I can talk Momma into that one. :)Hitting the road this summer...where to go firstWe plan to retire in May and hit the road for, at least, a month or so. We live in Ohio. Just looking for suggestions where to go first. We have thought about New England or Nova Scotia.Re: Cruise/speed control not workingThe speed sensor is on the front top of the rear differential. Inexpensive part and easily changed.Re: Breaking fogged dual pane glassOk, I did it. I put several strips of duct tape across the glass then used a spring loaded center punch to break the glass. Most of the glass came out with the duct tape. Yes there were lots of very small shards of glass and your clean up needs to be very exacting. But removing the inside pane of a dual pane window by breaking it is very doable. I'm now off to buy some screen spline to fill the void left by the removed glass.Breaking fogged dual pane glassI have a couple windows that have lost their seal and fogged up. The most important of these is the one on the right side where my mirror is. Obviously a safety issue. I don't have the time or money to replace it at this time but I have heard of breaking the inside glass and using it as a single pane until you can have it replaced. Anyone heard of this?Re: Cuise Control Problems on 2002 Itasca SunovaOn my 1999 Winne F53 the speed sensor was on the top of the rear axle. Cheap fix. It would give me all kinds of failures.
