I measure distance from top of my wheel well to ground before hooking up then after. It took that much air to keep from squatting. At that psi I have good control & no "light" feel to the steering wheel. Kinda scary if you come off an overpass then feel like there's no control at your steering wheel.Re: New Flex-Air pinbox rusting... Is yours ?Rust issue aside, may I ask why you switched from the Morryde to Flexair? What is your opinion on which is better for its intended purpose. Its not often we find someone who has tried both products so a comparison analysis would be informative since I was thinking of getting the Morryde.Re: Curt Hitch Rebuild? Thanks guys, will try more lube & calling Curt.Re: Curt Hitch Rebuild? the bear II wrote: I would try greasing the plate and plate on the pin box. It's surprising how much dampening grease creates when it's under pressure, works like a shock absorber. Anytime mine would clunk on stop or take off, I would grease the hitch and it stopped the problem. Thanks, I take it you mean the grease fittings on the hitch.Curt Hitch Rebuild? My 5th wheel is making a loud clunking noise when either accelerating hard or braking; sounds like the kingpin is not snug enough but not sure. Is there a rebuild kit for Curt 5th wheel hitches? How would I know if its ready for a rebuild & whats rebuilt?Re: Suspension Air Bags? avvidclif1 wrote: Try new shocks for the bounce..... Shocks r relatively new.Re: Suspension Air Bags? g4sbrg wrote: did the system take the bounce out on those road level changes. that's about the only thing in my new to me 5ver setup seems to need improvement on, pulls straight, handles well just that one bounce at hwy speed could be improved, or do they mostly do that anyway??? This is the main issue I would like to see improvement with also: bounce. Thanks for your input guys; the jury is in, now all i have to do is decide Ride-rite or Pacbrake.Suspension Air Bags?I'm thinking of adding air bags to the rear suspension on my 06' Ram 2500 since I started pulling an 8300lb 5th wheel. Any recommendations on brands & gotchas as well as psi settings. Did it make a difference in handling, ride quality, or stance of vehicle? Right now its a little squat when pulling.Re: Battery losing charge westend wrote: Anytime the battery is connected to the 12 V system of the RV, there will be parasitic draws from the fridge, thermostat, water heater, radio, and alarms. Sometimes, connecting the 120 V shore power and hence, powering the converter, will blow fuses or a circuit breaker to/inside the converter because of the high amperage draw of a depleted/bad battery. How are you measuring the draw on the battery, with the onboard idiot lights or with a meter? If the former, get yourself a cheap multimeter, it will help you from not spending money on things you don't need. With your new meter, measure the voltage at the battery and at the converter output. Report back. Measured with a multimeter. My manual makes no mention of battery cutout switch & seller never mentioned it. Now I just have to locate the little bugger & remove it. I guess I should just follow the leads. Can I expect to find it near the c/b & fuse panel? or do they like to hide it elsewhere?Re: Battery losing chargeThanks guys; put the fully charged battery in after replacing some corroded leads just to be safe. With shore power battery voltage showed a slight decline. With truck power & truck running battery voltage showed slight increase. I guess the odds are my converter is bad. Is the battery being drawn down by anything in the background with shore power & a converter that appears not to be charging?
