ChrisTire Monitors.....We have owned our 2007 Itasca Impulse for just under a year now, and had been carefully planning aspects of being in it for the previous 18 months I had a long list of things I wanted to get or have done to it in phase 1 - most of which have been done.... Things like: Fit an Extend-a-Stay Propane adapter Fit waste tank heating blankets..... I have just purchased a Tireminder monitoring set and would like some advice from any of you that have these fitted Next month we will be driving from Vegas to Bryce Canyon for a three month volunteer stint in the National Park Onced we have parked the RV and set it all up there - should we remove the 6 tire sensors whilst it is parked for those three months? In particular - should we remove the batteries from the tire sensors to prolong their lives? Any advice you can give would be welcome Many Thanks as always Chris and OctaviaRe: Flat BatteriesThanks all for your replies - much appreciated I'll probably get the dealer to take a look at it once we've recharged the batteries.....Re: Flat BatteriesDo any of you know if having the two "house" DC batteries drain would eventually cause a drain on the main coach engine battery?Flat BatteriesWe are the owners of a 2007 Itasca Impulse that has done relatively low mileage (just over 38K), and that is in pretty decent condition On March 24th we had the local RV dealer who we have used before do some work on the RV - amongst which was to fit heating pads to our waste tanks. These are DC powered There are two switches above the main panel - both of which were off when we parked the RV in the RV yard We have just been to the RV to get some coats and have found both the house batteries and the coach main engine battery are dead Even though the power lights for the heating pads were off - could there have been a problem here and the battery got drained? We know we have a problem with our heating thermostat which even when the lever is set of "Off" - still kicks in the heating blower fan if the temperature falls below a certain level (we know we need to get this attended to....), so this might be the culprit for the house batteries, though I didn't think it had been that cold since the end of March Have any of you been in this situation where you have found those batteries dead after leaving the RV for just over 6 weeks (I forgot to set the battery cut-off switch If the house battery drains - could it also drain the coach main engine battery as well? We have Roadside assist and will get them to jump the battery and make sure all are recharged - but wondered if anyone else has ever had this issue Thanks for any advice you can give ChrisRe: How do you level a motorhome front to back? Thanks - I actually have a set of these Hopkins Levels as shown above that I bought recently - but the one on the door just came off (need to find some better adhesive)Re: How do you level a motorhome front to back?I have a set of 4 Anderson levelers exactly like the ones shown in an earlier post These raise the Wheel up by a max of 4 inches, but I found that last time we camped it still didn't make the RV level (it was still quite a bit out according to our circular spirit level) The fridge still worked OK - but has anyone else found this - using one of these types of levelers to raise the wheel to the max - but still not being level If you foudn this - did you take any additional action? ChrisRe: Electric Tank BlanketsThanks to all who have helped by responding to this question If we decide to have tank blankets fitted - is this something we could do ourselves, or would we need to get professionals to do this (like Camping World for instance) If any of you have had this done - what have your experiences been? ChrisRe: Electric Tank BlanketsWe plan to live full time in the RV - but would just like to be OK in locations where the temperature dropped to say around 20 overnight We would separately buy a heated water inlet hoseElectric Tank BlanketsI've previously asked a question about "Winterizing" an RV - and have recently received emails from Camping World advertising electric water tank blankets http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/tank-blanket-40-gallon-ac/71649 Does anyone have experience of fitting these? How many do you need? Clearly you would need one for your potable fresh water tank - but do you also need them for either black or grey waste tanks? If you use them do you power them from the RV's internal A/C - or plug them into a spare A/C socket in your shoreside power pedestal? Chris
