I will pass it on to my mechanic. ronfisherman, I thought that I had hit "submit changes" but went in and did it again. This is the test. :-)Re: Dash heat and A/C in 2004 E450 not blowingHmm that is my old MH in my signature line... I edited but I guess it didn't take! :-)Dash heat and A/C in 2004 E450 not blowingI have a 2005 Sunseeker Class C on a 2004 Ford E450 chassis, purchased used about one year ago. Initially the heat or AC would blow intermittently from the dash and/or floor vents (defrost works) but on my last trip it has stopped blowing air completely from those locations. I remember researching this last year and seeing some references to a disconnected vacuum hose known to cause this issue in E450s, but I can't find those references now. My rig is going to the mechanic for some work and I am going to ask him to look at this, but if I can give him some guidance that would be great. Thanks!Re: Generac gen set for class C motorhomeDutchmenSport: I have a portable Generac generator for my house, but the place that services that (one of 320 service centers that you found) won't work on an RV generator. Somehow they are a different kettle of fish (or maybe they don't want to work on one that is buried in a hole in a motor vehicle). I travel with dogs to dog shows, and frequently am parked for days at a time in an asphalt parking lot with no power hookup. I use my generator a LOT in order to run air conditioning.Re: Generator overloads with A/CInteresting discussion.... right now I am dealing with the same issue with my still-under-warranty Dometic air conditioner. It will run when the coach is plugged in to shore power (but sometimes does labor at startup and show a 10% voltage drop on my crappy volt meter which is plugged in to one of the RV outlets) but causes the generator to shut off with a low voltage fault. I had the gen set load tested at the local Cummins service center and it was fine. On Wednesday my RV tech is going to test the start capacitor... all this is complicated by the warranty issue. I just want to start over with a new air conditioner!Generac gen set for class C motorhomeI am considering purchasing a 2008 Gulf Stream Class C (much newer and nicer than my current 1998 Coachmen) and the one I looked at has a Generac gen set. I currently have an Onan, and I know that Onan is the FAR more common brand. Are there issues with a Generac? Is service generally available? With my older Onan I have had to have it worked on several times by Cummins factory service, so I know that sooner or later I will also need service beyond maintenance on the Generac. This particular gen set has 975 hours and it looks to have been well-maintained by the local dealer who is selling the coach. This coach has been used as a rental unit and is exceptionally clean, 80,000 miles on the Chevy chassis.Re: Refrigerator thinks it's a freezer ...Temperature held between 34-37 degrees over night. Success!Re: Refrigerator thinks it's a freezer ...Update... replaced the "mystery board" with the appropriate one from Dometic, and after 6 hours the temperature is holding between 36-38 degrees for the past 2 hours. I'll know for sure in the morning, but it looks like the problem was caused by a bad lower control board. Thanks for all the imput! I'm not sure if this information helps you, tinstartrvlr. :-)Re: Refrigerator thinks it's a freezer ...Tonight, after running the refrigerator for 24 hours, the temperature in *both* the food and freezer compartments was minus 10 degrees. Fahrenheit. Once the RV tech and I can get together again, we will be replacing the lower control board with one that we KNOW is appropriate for my refrigerator model. And Old-Biscuit, your idea about meat storage might work for you, but I'm a vegetarian. ;-)Re: Refrigerator thinks it's a freezer ...Morning update: After replacing the thermistor (entire wire, not just the end in the refrigerator) this morning the temperature in the refrigerator was *4* degrees. Replacing the "mystery board" is probably the next order of business (since this particular symptom started when that was installed) but the RV tech who is working with me is also putting in a call to Dometic.
