I have towed it less than 3000 miles. I have experianced many major problems with it since I purchased it. Now I found that the frame has a major problem. The wall on the side of the front closet has been broken by the movement of the frame. I would like to know how many others have had this problem. It probably is not a frame failure despite all the Lippert bashers. Montana decided to use a very thin piece of vertical paneling for the closet wall. They then installed it tight to the floor. There is always some flexing of the frame and this flimsy setup cannot handle it. A common problem in Montanas. The Montana Owners Club forum (www.montanaowners.com) for more than you ever wanted to know about Montanas. If it's a "common problem" with Montana's, which I find a little hard to believe that it's "common"...I'll steer clear of purchasing a Montana 5er...... I can almost guarantee it's a common problem. The side panel is not rigid enough to hold itself up let alone any shelving. On top of that it is installed with staples. Very poor engineering IMO.Re: 2010 Montana 5th wheel frame problemsI believe in my case that the closet was built so poorly that it would have come apart with or without the frame flexing. Mine is a 2013 Montana Moutaineer which I believe it has the same closet.Re: 2010 Montana 5th wheel frame problemsThe side panel on mine came apart also. All the shelving come down and made quite a mess. I had to add a re-enforcement piece and install extra screws for adequate strength. It really is poorly engineered.Re: Tire Failure-Update IVI used to run BFG's on my truck until the last couple sets had problems. Now I run Toyo's and it's an amazing difference in quality IMO. I could never keep the BFG's balanced but in contrast the Toyo's are so true that after the initial install I never need to balance them for the life of the tire.Onan 5500I recently installed an Onan 5500 gasoline generator and am on my first dry camping trip and it has quit working. It has 6 hours all from exercising. I am thinking fuel pump as I couldn't hear it when I primed it. I did check the voltage to the pump and it had 12 volts when hitting the prime button. Has anyone had similar trouble? Am I suppose to hear the fuel pump? I seem to remember hearing it prime in the past.Re: Goose BoxThanks for everyone's help. I went ahead and ordered one.Re: Goose Box mdamerell wrote: Works fine. I'm mainly concerned about bed clearance. I'm towing with a 2012 F350 and pulling a 2013 290RL Mountaineer.Landing gear failureFirst trip out in our new 2013 Mountaineer our electric landing gear jammed up and had to be removed to get us home. Is this a common problem with electric landing gear? Can hydraulic be added for a reasonable cost?
