I am heading from Nebraska to the Eastern Side of the Adirondack Mountains. I have 3 weeks with nothing I plan to see in between. I route across I80 to 80/90 to 90, take a short cut, then I87. It is about 1400 miles. I have pulled this far before but with a smaller TT. I typically stop at a truck stop every 150 miles to check everything and rest. At the next light, bear left (Van Dam St) continue straight onto the arterial ( rt 50) After you pass a lake on your left, you want the left lane for the entrance to 87 north about 3/4 mile ahead.. It sounds complicated but is an easy route to follow and avoids a nasty turn from a narrow street through the business district. It does save quite a bit of time and a lot of miles.
