Twelve years later, it has almost 90,000 miles on it and we've never had a coverable item fail. All of the appliances still work. The only major engine repair was the mass airflow sensor, probably wouldn't have been covered even if it had to be replaced during the life of a warranty.Re: Tow Dolly - OpinionsMaster Tow is inexpensive and I've had mine for years with no problems. It has electric brakes and came with straps to secure the tires to the dolly. It only takes a few minutes to load/unload the vehicle. We stay in pull through spaces at RV Parks, and leave the dolly and towed vehicle attached. In storage, I disconnect the dolly and backup over the tongue to minimize overall length. We've towed a Chevy minivan and we're on our second xB: would have cost a fortune to equip each car for 4 wheel down towing.Happy ownerThis is a post for those of you considering a used Class C. Ours had 9700 miles on it when we bought it from a neighbor in July 2002. We've traveled the west coast, and for the last 10 years have been traveling to the Pittsburgh, PA area for the summers. It now has 87,000 miles on it. We have some traditions for family get togethers: Easter dinner and Mothers Day at Mission Bay, and the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights (boats) each Christmas (KFC and hot chocolate). Last weekend, after sitting since October, it started right up again. The coach battery only lasted a couple of hours, so we used the generator until we ran out of gas (less than 1/4 of a tank.) Then we used a lantern we've had since we bought the motor home for the first time. The only record I can find for the battery is Oct 2003; it's just a group 24 from Wal-Mart. Anyway, I've heard our model referred to entry level. It's not fancy, but has everything we want and it's reliable.Re: 2001 four windsMy 2000 Four Winds doesn't have a control box, just a Wineguard antenna box with amplifier. The TV antenna was connected to it. There was another connection for cable TV and connections for front and rear TVs. Only use the amplifier with the antenna, not when connected to cable. The TVs are controlled by their individual setup menu. First select antenna or cable, then select autosearch and add stations on each TV.Re: 2000 Four Winds Generator SpecificsMy Four Winds will start from the engine battery when the coach battery is low/dead. There's a battery disconnect switch just inside the entrance door: I think it has to be in the on (connected) position for the generator start switch to work.Re: Chevy brake light shortI'll check youtube. It was raining today so I couldn't do anything outside. It's a conversion van, and doesn't fit in the garage.Re: Chevy brake light shortYes, I wrote that in my original post. All of the lights and sockets look good. The left one works correctly, that's why I swapped left and right light bulbs.Re: Chevy brake light shortThe bulb and socket look good. It's just the one light bulb that is supposed to work with lights and brakes. Where to start looking for a ground?Chevy brake light shortWhere do I start looking for a short? All of the rear lights on my 1997 Chevy Express van work correctly individually. But when the running lights are on and the brake pedal is applied, the bottom right side light bulb goes out. It works OK when the brakes are applied or the lights turned on, but not when both are active at the same time. The socket is clean and a snug fit. I swapped the left and right light bulbs, and the right one still didn't work correctly. Do I have to crawl under the van to check the tail light harness?Re: Exhaust questionI don't remember where my original tail pipe was located, but when I had the muffler replaced, the exhaust pipe was relocated and now exits just aft of the entrance steps on the passenger side. I have not noticed any fumes entering the coach in the seven years and 50,000 miles since the change.
