If silicone has been used how do you prep?Re: Working on something ALL THE TIMEI got ya man. I am a month shy of becoming 80 and after 23 years in 2 motor homes, 91 Bounder and 01 Tradewinds I am selling the Tradewinds. Shoulder and knee trouble and just cannot do it any more even with the wife driving now. 13 years of fulltiming in Tradewinds and just today emptied it out into a recently purchased home in Vegas and took it to a storage lot. Took off in 2000 for a year to find the perfect spot and after 13 years of looking found out there is no perfect place. Biggest mistake was storing all our furniture for 13 years at a cost of $26000. My to do list is over a full page long and no way can I catch up with it. Goes with the territory. Some of our best years in 47 year marriage. Good luck.Re: How to inflate to 110 psi....NO, NO, NO, I assume you have a diesel engine. All you have to do is increase your engine RPM up around 1500 or so. Do this by turning on your cruise control and jog the speed control. Transmission in neutral of course. It will gradually increase engine RPM and raise the air pressure. 110 PSI no problem. 2011 National Tradewinds. I also assume you have quick disconnect fittings in your air line and a 50 foot air hose. Mine is in the fuse compartment next to and below the drivers seat. Good luckRe: Air connector for Tropical? In my 2001 Tradewinds it is in the fuse compartment next to and below the drivers seat. You will need the quick disconnect fittings for a 50 foot air hose and fittings to attach other end of quick disconnect to air line. Easy job. Also to get enough pressure in your air hose line you need to use your cruise control controls to increase your idle to 1500 rpm or so to get higher pressure in hose. Good luck. What is the latest on RedMaxPro peeling and removal.Three years after applying RedMaxPro to my 2001 Tradewinds it is peeling off and something has to be done. I am also 3 years older with rotator cuff problems in both shoulders. Has anyone found a easy solution to removing this ugly mess. It looked beautiful for a long time but not any longer. Before applying the RedMax I also removed the original decals and like the all white look. A great white whale. The front and rear caps and basement doors seem to be ok but the side panels are the problem. Different type of fiberglas. Moulded and sheet. Thanks for any help.Re: Is this a good deal or not?Don't do it. Engine to small and it is the one thing you can not fix. Some will say it is ok but they never drive over 45 mph.Re: Octane lower at higher elevationsSpending summers in Gunnison (7705 feet elevation) and Crested Butte (9000 feet) Colorado for many years now. Always have used 85 octane fuel here and milage would increase from 25 MPG to 30 MPG in the 2000 Suzuki and from 22 mpg to 27 mpg in the Honda CRV. No difference in performance here or off the hill when still using the 85 octane. Also on dirt and 4 wheel drive roads up to 12000 feet. Use the 85 stuff.Re: Redoing peeling Red Max Pro on 2001 National DPTrying to post pictures of problem from Photobucket. Fist time I have tried to post. Red Max Pro was not used on the roof. Washed front and rear caps today and they are peeling also but not as bad as sides. Photos are of the right side of MH. http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/donaldclark1/library/?sort=3&page=1Redoing peeling Red Max Pro on 2001 National DPAlmost 3 year old wax job with Red Max Pro is badly peeling. Has been in outdoor storage for 4 months and not washed for many months before that. Out on the road again for several months and have time now to restore finish. I know is is a bitter subject with some but it did a great job for me and it reduced my waxing completely and washing a lot. I have read here that some now just give their rig a good wash with Dawn and Bar Keepers Friend and apply a few more coats of Zep and others do the original prep work with TPS. Any other new ideas? Just spent 5 hard hours in 2 days on the roof washing and removing with BKF and Dawn a black fungus like problem. Thousands and thousands of tiny black dots on the entire roof. At least the roof looks new now. Any new experiences appreciated. ThanksRe: Safari Sahara 3044, 300hp CatTo short, 37 feet is minimal length, 40 feet is best
